BA IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD 07 COMMISSIONERS OF TIM CITY OY YORT WORT$t SECTION 1 (a) Persons known as tramps, wandering or strolling about in idleness who are able to work gad have no property to support thea. (b) Persons leading an idle, immoral or profligate life, who have no property to support them and who are able to work and de not work. (o) All persons sable to work who have no proprty to support them and who have no visible or known means of a fair, honest, and reputable lidihood. The term "visible or known means of a fair, honest and reputable livelihood" as used in this section shall be construed to mean reasonable oontinuous employ- sent at some lawful occupation for reasonable compensation, or a fixed and regular income from property or other investments, which income is suffi- cient for the support and maintenanoe of such person. (d) All ablebodied persons who habitually loaf, loiter, and idle in any railroad station, or any other public place, in this Cita, for the larger portion of their time without any regular employment and without any visible means of support; an offense under paragraph (d) of this section shall be made out whenever it is shown that any person has no visible means of sup- port and only occasionally has employment at odd jobs, being for the most of the time out of employment. (e) Persons trading or bartering stolen property, or who unlawfully sell any vinous, alcoholic, malt, intoxicating or spiritous liquors. (f) Avery common gambler or person who for the most part maintains him- self by gambling, (g) All companies of gypsies, who, in whole, or in part, maintain w themselves by telling fortunes. (h) Avery ablebodied person who shall go begging for a livelihood. (1) Avery common prostitute. (j) Avery Keeper of a house of prostitution, (k) Every keeper of a house of gambling or gaming, Page #-2 COPI Ordinance *101 (1) Ivory person who shall abandon his wife, or child, or children without just cause, leaving such wife or child, or children without rapport, or is danger of becoming a public charge. (m) Ivory ablebodied person who lives without employment or labor, and who has no visible mems of support. (n) 11l persons who are able to work and do not work, butt hire out their minor children or allow them to hire out and live upon their wages, being without other means of support. (o) 111 persons over sixteen years of age and under twenty-one able to work and who do not work, and have no property to support them, and have not some known, visible means of a fair, honest and reputable livelihood, and whose parents or those in loco pareatis are unable to support them, sad who are not in attendance on some eduaationsl institution. (p) 111 perans who advertise and maintain themselves in whole or in past as clairvoyant or fore-tellers of future events, or as having supernatural knowledge with respect to present or future conditions, transactions, hap- penings or events. (q) Any person who unlawfully solicits orders for intoxicating liquters. (r) 111 sale persons who habitually associate with prostitutes or habitually loiter in or around houses of prostitution, or who, without having visible means of support, receive financial aid or assistance from prostitutes. SECTION 2 Amy person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof be fined in any sum not to exceed *2W.00. SECTIOE 3 111 ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewitk are hereby repealed. this ordinance shall be in full force and offset from and after Its passage and publication as required by law I hereby certify that the above and foregoing ordinance was duly pres- eated and unanimously passed by the Board of Commissioners of the City of port Worth at a session held June 25, 1909.
