Fort ',,Torth, Texas met in regular session in the coun-
cil chamber at the city hall at nine o'clock A. H.
August -, 1924, and upon, roll
call the following were present: E. R. Cockrell,
Mayor, John Alderman, Chester L. Jones and J. C. Lord,
COmmissior-ers, constituting a majority and quorum of
the Board, and the following proceedings, among other
things, were had and done:
Commissioner Jones duly seconded by Comris-
sioner Alderman moved the passage and adoption of the
following resolution:

Collector Of taxes for said city has nade all of the
assessments of all property subject to taxation in naid,
city and has made rolls thereof, and on the Completion
of the said roll that he has made a report in -,Writing
to the said Board for their action; and

SECTION IV
Upon the requisition of the Board of Vchool
Trustees of the Indelpendent School District of the City
of Fort 7fforth, and in conformity with the said Boardto
Certificate to that effect, there is also hereby levied
and there shall be collected as provided by law, an annual,
direct, special ad valorem tax for the year 1924, for the
PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING AND YM9TtJ".7ING AN OFFICIAL SYSTEM
OF h1g)ICAL INSPECTION AND HEALTH INSPECTION, in the public
schools, of 2 cents on every $100,00 valuation on all

on the lat day of January., A. D. 1924, liable under the
law to taxation and not exempt therefrom the by consti-

SECTION V
That there is also hereby levied and there
shall be collected, as provided by law, an annual, di-
rect, special ad valorem tax for the year 1924, for the
support and maintenance of a free public library in the
City Of Fort Worth of 2 cents on every $100.00 valuation
on all Property, real, Personal and mixed, situated in,

Worth, on the 1st day OZ January, A. D. 1924, liable
under the law to taxation and not exenP" therefrom by
the constitution or laws of the State of Texas.

ZCTIOIT XII
That the taxes herein levied and authorized
and required to be collected, shall be and become due
and payable on September 1, 1924, but the mze shall not
be construed to be delin4uent, so as to incur penalty
thereon until February 1, 1225, on which date and there-
after in default in payment, a,--id penalty, as hereinafter
set Out, shall accrue and be attached thereto, and become
a part of the total amount to be paid by defaulting and
delinquent tax payers.
SECTION XIII
That the 31st day of January, A. D. 1925, is
hereby fixed as the final day upon which day taxes shall
be paid the City of Fort Worth without the imposition of
penalties, but it is further provided that each and every
person, firm, association Or ocrporation, paying or dis-
charging in full, his, their or its city taxes, as hereby
fixed and levied, on or before the 15th day of Septer,iber,
A. D. 1924, shall be alloved a rabate or discount of 3
per cent of the full amount, thereof, and that each and
every person, firm, association or corporation paying or
discharging in full his, their or its city taxes, as hereby
fixed and levied from the 16th day of Septenber, A. D.
1924 and on or before the 30th day of Cepgember, A. D.
1924, shall be allowed a rebate or discount Of 2 per cent
of the full amount thereof.
S)ECTION IV
That an and after February 1, all such
taxes as hereinbefore levied as remain unpaid, as re-
quired herein to be paid on or before January 31, 1925,
shall be deezed deli"zmluent and there shall be added there-
to a penalty of one per cent per month or part of month
upon -the full amount of such unpaid taxes, for the time
the same shall remain unpaid, said penalty of one per
cent per month shall be added to said taxes upon the
first day of February, 1923, and upon the first day of
each and every month thereafter until taxes shall have
been paid, which penalty :shall be and become a part of
said taxes and be payable as such, arlA. provided further
that in the event of publication of delinquent tax lisle,
Or if suit is brought to .recover such taxes and penalty
the delinquent tax ;payers shall be subject to the payment
of said taxes, penalties and costs, omd the same shall be
and become a lien upon the 'property of such tax payers,
as Prescribed by law, and eaid taxes with penalties and
costs shall be and become and are hereby made a para-
mount lien to a-ij. other liens whatever on the '.oroperty
on which said taxes are levied.
SECTION XV
That this ordinance shall take efkfao,,-* and be
in full force and effeot from and after the date of its
passage, as Provided by law, and it is so ordained.
