AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE R"2PORT OF THE PUBLIC NIORKS DEPARrTMT:
AWARDING THE CONTRACT OF THE D-TROVED,- T OF SEMIARY DRIVE,
SEt•IIVARY DRIVE EXTENSION, UNIT NO. III, IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TZXAS, AND AUTHORIZING ITS =1 CUTION: AND DIRECTING THE CITY
ENGINEER TO PREPARE ESTIMATES
WHEREAS, by Ordinances No. 4206, passed and approved by the City
Council of the City of Fort i orth, the City Council determined the necessity
for and ordered the improvement of a portion of the following streets, to-grit:
SEMINARY DRIVE EXTENSION: from Hemphill Street to West Service
Road of the N-S Freeway, known and designated as Unit No. III.
-'FEREAS, subsequent to the passage and approval of said Ordinance,
Plans and Specifications for said improvements were submitted by the Public
Works Director and said Plans and Specifications were approved and adopted by
the City Council; and,
WHER&AS, Notice to Bidders was given as required by the City Charter;
and,
JHEREAS, the bid of Worth Construction Company was found to be the
lowest and best bid for the making and construction of said improvements, to-wit:
i1ccavation of present streets, construction of 711 Reinforced Concrete Pavement with
combined curb and gutter and necessary appurtenanaes, all as provided by said Plans
and Specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the work of making and constructing such improvements and contracts
therefore is hereby awarded to Worth Construction Company, at and for the prices
stated in the proposal of the said Company and as reported and recommended by the
Public 6,iorks Department. The City Aianager and City Secretary are hereby directed

That to provide for the payment of the indebtedness incurred by the
City of Fort Worth by said Contract, there is hereby appropriated out of
available funds, which have been set aside for said purpose an amount sufficient
to pay said indebtedness so incurred.
SECTION 3.
That the Public Works Director of the City of Fort Worth be, and he
is hereby ordered and directed to file with the City Council estimates of the
cost of such improvements in accordance withthe terms of the powers and pro
visions of Chapter 106 of the acts of the First called session of the Fortieth
Legislature of the State of Texas, now shown as Article 1105b of Vernon's Civil
Statutes of the State of Texas, Annotated, which law has been adopted as an
amendment to and made a part of the Charter of the City of Fort i,rorth.

Referring to the Report of the Public Works Department in connection
with bids for the improvement of Seminary Drive, Seminary Drive Extension,
Unit No. III in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and to the proposed Contract,
therefore, it appears that the amount which the City will pay in connection
with such Contract and improvements is the sum of one hundred sixty two thousand,
eight hundred thirty six dollars and eighty one cents. ($162,836.81).
I do certify to the City of Fort Worth that the money required for
such contract and expenditures, which will be incurred thereby is in the
Treasury to the credit of the Street Improvement Fund and not appropriated for
any other purpose.

City of Fort Worth S. Freeway, Project No. 84-132-
23, Unit No. 111 - Assessment
Mrs. McKnight and Gentlemen: Paving
do December 8, 1959, bids were received for the paving of Seminary Drive
from Hemphill to the North-South Freeway in accordance with Ordinance No.
4207. The specifications providLwd for two alternate types of pavement
which are:
Alternate No. 1 7" Reinforced Concrete Pavement
Alternate No. 2 If" Hot-Mix Asphaltic Concrete
Surface on 6" Reinforced Con-
crete Base
The following bids were received:

The Public Works Department reports that the lowest bid received was from
Worth Construction Company for Alternate No. 1 and that this firm has
satisfied the prequalification requirements. It is recommended that the
City Council adopt an ordinance awarding the contract on the project to
Worth Construction Company on their low bid of $ 162,836.81 for Alternate
No. I . It is also recommended that the report of the Director ofFinance
stating that there are sufficient funds available for this project be
adopted.
