SUBJECT VACATION OF AN ALLEY RIGHT-OF-WAY AND TEMPORARY ACCESS EASEMENT: SEMINARY
HILL ADDITION BLOCK 6, LOTS 1-5, 11R, AND 18 THROUGH 22, GAMBRELL STREET AT
JAMES AVENUE V-91-19
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating the
remaining portion of the 15' wide alley located between Lots 1 through 5 and 18 through
22, Block 6, Seminary Hill Addition, as recorded in Volume 310, pages 45, P.R.T.C.T.,
and a 20' wide temporary access easement located on Lot 11R, Block 6, Seminary Hill
Addition, recorded in Volume 388-150, page 22, P.R.T.C.T., and being the south property
line of Lat 18, Block 6, Seminary Hill Addition as recorded in Volume 310, page 45,
P.R.T.C.T., as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
DISCUSSION:
The Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, owner of all adjacent property, has
requested that the City vacate the above-described 15' wide alley and 20' wide
temporary access easement for the purpose of expanding existing facilities. A
satisfactory replat has been submitted which includes the dedication of utility
easements acceptable for the retention of existing utility facilities. Reviewing City
departments and private utility companies have raised no objection to the vacation of
this public right-of-way and temporary access easement.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
A fee of $2,663.00 satisfies the interest of the City in the subject vacation.
This application is located in Council District 6.
