ORDINANCE N0. ,
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GUISHING A PORTION OF A STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED
WITHIN THE SARAH GRAY JENNINGS SURVEY TO THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN
SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE-
WITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT the nine (9) foot wide by nine hundred seventy-three
and forty-nine hundredths (973.49) foot long portion of the
street right-of-way of West Vickery Street adjacent to the south
property line of Tract 9-B, Sarah Gray Jennings Survey, Abstract
Number 844, and as more specifically described in attached
Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein, be and the
same is vacated, abandoned and permanently closed and extin-
guished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated por-
tion of a street right-of-way is hereby released and shall revert
to the adjacent owner as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that
easements are retained for any and all existing and prospective
utilities.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.

That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so
ordained.

WEST VICKERY STREET
BEING a 0.201 acre tract of land in the Sarah Gray Jennings Survey, Abstract No. 844 in
the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas and being adjacent to a 10.055 acre tract
described by deed recorded in Volume 4606, Page 489 of the Tarrant County Deed Records
and more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a "Y" cut in concrete on the south boundary of said 10.055 acre tract in
the existing north right-of-way of West Vickery and the southeasterly right-of-way of a
3.6150 Acre portion conveyed to the Texas Highway Department, from which the west
corner of said 10.055 acre tract bears South 89 degrees 45 minutes I I seconds West, on
said south boundary and north right-of-way of West Vickery, 264.83 feet, said "Y" marks
the west corner and POINT OF BEGINNING of this tract;
THENCE North 89 degrees 45 minutes I I seconds East along the existing north right-of-way
of West Vickery Blvd. for a distance of 973.49 feet to a point for a corner;
THENCE South 00 degrees 14 minutes 49 seconds East for a distance of 9.00 feet to a point
for a corner;
THENCE South 89 degrees 45 minutes I I seconds West parallel to the existing north right-of-
way of West Vickery Blvd. for a distance of 973.49 feet to a point for a corner;
THENCE North 00 degrees 14 minutes 49 seconds West for a distance of 9.00 feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING containing 8761 square feet or 0.201 acres of land, more or less.

SUBJECT VACATION OF A STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY: SARAH GRAY JENNINGS SURVEY, ABSTRACT #844,
TRACT 9-B WEST VICKERY STREET WEST OF HEMPHILL STREET, V-91-13
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating a 9' wide
by 973.49' long portion of West Vickery Street located adjacent to the south property
line of Tract 9-B, Sarah Gray Jennings Survey, Abstract #844, as approved by the City
Plan Commission.
D~I SCUSS ION
Fort Worth Roofing Supply, Inc., owner of all adjacent property, has requested that the
City vacate a 9' wide portion of West Vickery Street adjacent to their property for
expansion of their facilities. This portion of West Vickery Street is considered to
be excess right-of-way; however, it does contain sanitary sewer and electric utility
facilities. A satisfactory replat has been submitted which includes the dedication of
utility easements to retain these existing utility facilities. The City Plan
Commission held a hearing and approved the requested vacation on April 24, 1991. The
portion of the street right-of-way proposed for vacation is undeveloped. Reviewing
City departments have no objection to the vacation of this public right-of-way and an
acceptable replat has been submitted.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION•
A fee of $15,332.47 satisfies the interest of the City in the subject vacation and has
been deposited with the City Land Agent.
