HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 10695~..+- , :~ . ~ ~~ ~~~"° ORDINANCE N0. ~~~~-- AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING 51,831,907 00 IN THE GENERAL FUND, NON-DEPARTMENTAL ACCOUNT, AMBULANCE ASSESSMENT AND DECREASING THE GENERAL FUND UNRESERVED, UNDESIGNATED FUND BALANCE BY THE SAME AMOUNT FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE CITY'S AREA METROPOLITAN AMBULANCE AUTHORITY OPERATIONAL ASSESSMENT, PROVIDING FOR A 5EVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS' SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1990-91 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased appropriations in the General Fund, Non-Departmental Account, Ambulance Assessment, in the amount of $1,831,907 00; thereby decreasing the General Fund unrestricted, undesignated fund balance by the same amount, for the purpose of funding the City's Area Metropolitan Ambulance Authority operational assessment. SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 10652 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances .and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. The City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth is hereby directed to engross and enroll this ordinance by copying the caption and effective date into the minutes of the City Council and by filing this ordinance in the ordinance records of the City of Fort Worth. Adopt the attached Supplemental Appropriations Ordinance increasing appropriations in General Fund by $1,831,907 for payment of the City's Area Metropolitan Ambulance Authority operational assessment and decreasing the General Fund unreserved undesignated fund balance by the same amount; and 2. Approve payment of the City's assessment in quarterly payments of -=~ $457,976.75 for the period beginning October 1, 1990, and ending September 30, 1991. DISCUSSION: On September 25, 1990, the City Council approved M&C G-8817 which included a resolution approving the City of Fort Worth's continued participation in t'he Area Metropolitan Ambulance Authority for fiscal year 1990-91. The Authority's operating plan for FY 1990-91 calls for all member cities to pay a $4.07 per capita operational assessment. For Fort Worth, this assessment is $1,831,907. FINANCING: Upon approval of Recommendation No. 1, sufficient funds will be available in General Fund to pay the City's operational assessment. This expenditure will be charged to the General Fund, Non-Departmental Accident, Ambulance Assessment. The unreserved, undesignated fund balance in General Fund O1 will be $23,517,661 after this transfer.
