It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached supplemental
"j appropriations ordinance increasing appropriations to the 1989-90 annual
budget in the General Fund O1 Police Department account numbers and amounts
listed below from the unreserved, undesignated fund balance of General Fund
O1.
DISCUSSION
The City's annual operating budget is formally enacted into law by passage of
an appropriations ordinance which establishes spending limits for each
departmental operation of the City. During the fiscal year, donated and
seized funds received by the Police Department are supplementally
appropriated to General Fund, Police Department accounts for specific
purposes.
At the end of the 1988-89 fiscal year, unexpended donated and seized funds
were transferred to the unreserved, undesi gnated fund balance. The Police
Department has requested that unexpended appropriations in 1988-89, from
donated and seized funds, be approved for re-appropriation into the 1989-90
fiscal year.
