ORDINANCE N0. 1~
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING AND
EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF SOUTH GROVE STREET, BETWEEN
RIPY STREET AND BUTLER STREET, AND TWO ALLEYS LOCATED '
IN WORTH HEIGHTS ADDITION; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF
FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT the following street and alley rights-of-way be, and
the same are, vacated, abandoned and permanently closed and extin-
guished:
a. A portion of South Grove Street, located between
Ripy Street and Butler Street;
b. The north/south alley located in Block 10, Worth
Heights Addition, between Ripy Street and Butler
Street;
c. The north/south alley located in Block 11, Worth
Heights Addition, between Ripy Street and Butler
Street.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated
public street and alley rights-of-way is hereby released and
shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.

That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so
ordained.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating a portion
of South Grove Street between Ripy Street and Butler Street and two (2)
alleys located between Lots 1-22, Block 10, and between Lots 1-22, Block 11,
Worth Heights Addition, as recorded in Volume 204-A, Page 149, P.R.T.C.T., as
recommended by the City Planning Commission.
DISCUSSION
Mr. Gerry Curtis., surveyor representing the Fort Worth Independent School
District, owner of all abutting property, has requested that the City vacate
the above described street and alley rights-of-way, as shown on the attached
map.
The subject street, acquired by dedication, is not open on the ground, and
does not contain any utility facilities. The subject vacation request is
being made in order to include the vacated street and alleys as part of the
development of this site.
The Land Agent for the City of Fort Worth has determined that no monetary
consideration is necessary to satisfy the interest of the City of Fort Worth
in this public right-of-way.
Reviewing. City departments and private utility companies have raised no
objections to this request. A satisfactory replat has been submitted.
