AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS IN THE EQUIPMENT SERVICES FUND FUND 61, ACCOUNT NO 21-20-71, OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR FISCAL YEAR 1988-89 BY $5,000 AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT IN THE EQUIPMENT SERVICES FUND, FUND 61, ACCOUNT NO 21-20-71, FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS FOR TRAINING 1°vIATERIALS, TRAINING PROGRAMS, VISUAL AIDS OR TRAVEL FOR TRAINING AS APPROVED BY THE. TEXAS STATE TECHNICAL INSTITUTE IN SUPPORT OF AN APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAM, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. a BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITi~' OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated tii the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1988-89 and in the Budget of the City ;j Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts of $5,000 in the Equipment Service; Fund, Fund, Fund 61, Account 21-20- 71, thereby increasing appropriations by $5,000 for the purpose of providing funds doe training materials, training programs, visual aids or travel for training as approved by the Texas State Technical Institute in support of an Apprenticeship Training Program i SECTION 2. Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the re:maining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining p;covisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 10151 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. The City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth is hereby directed to engross and enroll this ordinance by copying the caption and effective date into the minutes of the City Council and by filing this ordinance in the ordinance records of the City of Fort Worth. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. Accept funds in the amount of $5,000 from Texas State Technical Institute in support of Apprenticeship Training Program for the period of December 1, 1988 through August 31, 1989, _2. Deposit the funds into the Equipment Services Fund 61, Index Code _ 069658; 3. Ad"opt the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts in Equipment Services Fund 61 and appropriations in Equipment Services Fund 61, Account No. 21-20-71, by $5,000 from increased revenue, 4. :Authorize the expenditure of said funds as approved by the Texas State Technical Institute. DISCUSSION• A proposed agreement has been reached with the Texas State Technical Institute (TSTI) in Amarillo, Texas, for funding support for the Apprenticeship Training Program in the Equipment Services Division. The Program is registered with the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training. Courses in the program are approved by the Texas Education Agency and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The Texas State Technical Institute has offered to provide addition funding support for this program in the amount of $5,000 based on the number of contact hours projected for this time period. These funds can be used for training materials, training programs, visual aids or travel for training. They are not limited to those who are enrolled in the program. The Equipment Services Division has met all the criteria stipulated by the Texas State Technical Institute. This program may be funded a second year if the course continues to receive accreditation. This funding support is for the period of December 1, 1988 through August 31, 1989. An itemized listing of expenditures will be provided to TSTI on a quar- terly basis. The funding support is renewable provided the agreement criteria continues to be met. FINANCING.
