ORDINANCE NO. 1~~~
AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS IN THE PARK AND RECREATION CIl' FUND,
FUND 36, PROJECT 041056-01, RIVER PARK/STREAMS AND VALLEYS, OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR 1988-89 BY THE SUM OF $60,000 AND APPROPRIATING SAID $60,000 TO THE PARK
AND RECREATION CIP FUND, FUND 36, PROJECT 041056-01, RIVER PARK/STREAMS AND VALLEYS, FOR
PHASE I DEVELOPMENT OF RIVER PARK, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABII,ITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS
ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLMENT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the
Fiscal Year 1988-89 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased
estimated receipts in the Park and Recreation CIP Fund, Fund 36, Project No 041056-01,
River Park/Streams and Valleys, by the sum of $60,000 and appropriating said $60,000 to the
Park and Recreation CIP Fund, Fund 36, Project No 041056, River Park/Streams and Valleys
for Phase I development of River Park.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid,
inoperative or void for any reas on by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision
opinion or judgement shall in no
way impair the
remaining portions, sections, or ,
parts of
sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 10151 and all other
ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the
provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and
appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and
appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
The City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth is hereby directed to engross and enroll
this ordinance by copying the caption and effective date into the minutes of the City
Council and by filing this ordinance in the ordinance records of the City of Fort Worth.
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its passage, and it is so ordained.

Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council
(1) Accept a $60,000 gift for the development of River Park from Streams and
Valleys Committee, Inc and record receipt into Park and Recreation
Fund 36, CIP Project No 041056-01, River ParklStreams and Valleys, and
(2) Adopt the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing
estimated receipts and appropriations by $60,000 to the Park and
Recreation CIP Fund 36, Project No 041056-01, River Park/Streams and
Valleys
Discussion
At the November 7, 1988 Streams and Valleys Committee meeting, the Executive
Committee approved a gift of $60,000 to the Park and Recreation Department
for Phase I development of River Park This site is located at the northwest
corner of Bryant-Irvin Road and the Clear Fork of the Trinity River, and was
acquired through the Park Dedication Policy in 1984
Phase I development is estimated at $95,000 Streams and Valleys' donation
will fund the following improvements
1 Parking lot for 32 cars which would facilitate the park visitors
and provide public access to the existing Trinity Trail system
2 Walkway construction making the physical connection between parking
lot trail system
3 Signage related to trail usage and safety
The Park and Recreation Advisory Board reviewed this action through a
Director's Report to the Board dated November 15, 1988
Financing
Upon adoption of the above supplemental appropriation ordinance in the amount
of $60,000, sufficient funds will be available in Park and Recreation CIP
Fund 36, Project No 041056-Oi, River Park/Streams and Valleys, in Phase I
development of River Park
