BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION In the early 1970's, the City of Fort Worth with help from various private and public organizations began work on a hike/bike trail that would eventually extend alongside the Trinity River. The existing trail currently runs from Southwest Blvd. (Hwy. 183) to Heritage Park and out to University Drive and is in need of signage for informational purposes. The Fort Worth Bicycle Association has generously offered $600 to initiate this project. These funds will enable us to begin work on the first phase of the project. Sign's will be purchased from General Services Division and installed by the Park Construction Section. On September 20, 1988, the Park and Recreation Advisory Board approved this action. FINANCING Sufficient funds will be available in Special Trust Fund 72, Project No. 502114-00, Trinity Trails, to complete Phase I of this project. Expenditures will be made from Index Code 625517.
