The Special Operations Division of the Fort Worth Police Department is fighting an ever increasing battle in the war against drug trafficking in our City. The Special Operations Division conducts numerous surveillances, undercover operations, and search warrants. In each of these operations, there is a need to gather information on vehicles, people and property. At the present time, this information can only be obtained by calling the Police Information Center either by radio or telephone. Sometimes there are numerous items to be checked and the radio channel is already quite congested. These portable M.D.T. units will allow the officers of this division to gather information needed and help eliminate some of the burden on our Police Information Center dispatchers.
