HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 10391R~ ORDINANCE N O AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS IN THE GENERAL FUND 01, OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1988-89 BY TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $2,573 FROM THE SPECIAL GIFT FUND 88, PROJECT NO 036009-00, AND APPROPRIATING SAID $2,573 TO THE GENERAL FUND, FUND Ot ,FIRE DEPARTMENT, FIRE PREVENTION DNISION, ACCOUNT NO 36-40-00, SAID FUNDS To BE USED FOR THE PURCHASE OF A CUSTOM TRAILER FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A FIRE SAFETY HOUSE, PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTNE DATE. BE R ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS- SECTION 1. That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for the Fiscal Year 1988-89 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be increased estimated receipts in the General Fund 01, Miscellaneous Revenue, by transferring the sum of $2,573 from the Special Gift Fund 88, Project No 036009-00 and appropriating said $2,573 to the General Fund 01, Fire Department, Fire Prevention Division, Account No 36-40-00 of the General Fund, said funds to be used for the purchase of a custom trailer for construction of a Fire Safety House SECTION 2 Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgement shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No 10151 and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed SECTION 4 The City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth is hereby directed to engross and enroll this ordinance by copying the caption and effective date into the minutes of the City Council and by filing this ordinance in the ordinance records of the City of Fort Worth SECTION 5 This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. Approve the transfer of $2,573 from the Special Gift Fund 88, Project No. 036009-00, to the General Fund O1, Fire Prevention Division Account No. 36-40-00, and 2. Adopt the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing estimated receipts in the General Fund O1 by $2,573 and appropriations in a like amount in the General Fund O1, Fire Prevention Account No. 36-40-00 from increased revenues. DISCUSSION• Following the fire death of Michael Johnson, his employer, Union Pacific Railroad, presented a gift of $8,000.00 toward the construction of a Fire Safety House. This expenditure ins for the trailer frame of a Fire Safety House, which is a custom built mobile training unit resembling a two-story home complete with furniture, kitchen appliances, smoke alarms, fire alarm system, residential sprinklers - the works. When completed, the unit will be displayed during children's safety fairs, City park festivals, home shows, auto/RV shows, and neighborhood/community functions -anywhere kids assemble. The purpose is to teach kids positive fire safety behavior about smoke and fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and home escape planning. FINANCING.
