Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating the 16'
wide east/west alley in Block 1,05, Chamberlin Arlington Heights, 1st Filing,
from Camp Bowie eastward to Prevost Street, as recommended by the City Plan
Commission..
Discussion
Gerry Curtis, surveyor, on behalf of Woolfolk, Weeden & Sadler Partnership,
owners of all abutting property, has requested that the City vacate the 16'
wide east/west alley in Block 105, Chamberlin Heights, 1st Filing, from Camp
Bowie Boulevard eastward to Prevost Street, as shown on the attached map
The subject alley right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is not open on the
ground and does not contain any utility facilities. The subject vacation
request is made in order to rc~plat the vacated right-of-way with adjacent
property, thus expanding the building area and providing more usable yard
space
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies 'have raised no
objections to this request A satisfactory replat has been received.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the
subject alley right-of-way be vacated as requested. The Commission has further
recommended that any required compensation (estimated to be $26,305.00) for the
vacated right-of-way, as based on the fair market value, be 'waived.
