ORDINANCE NO. ~~?~~~
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GIJISHING A 16 FOOT WIDE NORTH/SOUTH ALLEY LOCATED IN THE
SANDIDGE ADDITION, TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS AS
MORE SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR REVER-
SION OF FEE IN SAID LAND(S); REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING. AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINEll BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT THE 16 foot wide alley located in Block 10 of the Sandidge
Addition to the City of Fort Worth as it runs from Terrell Street
north to Coop er Street, said Addition being recorded in Volume 47,
Page 69 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, be and the
same is vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land(s) in the above described vacated
alley and public right-of-way is hereby released and shall revert to
the adjacent owner(s) as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that
easements are retained for any and all existing and prospective
utilities and for any and all existing and prospective drainage
requirements, as necessary.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

Recommendation
~~~is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating the 16'
wide north/south alley located in Block 10, Sandidge Addition, as recorded in
Volume 47, Page 69, D.R.T.C.T., as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
Discussion
Loftin~V. Witcher, owner of an abutting property, with consent of all other
abutting owners, has requested the City to vacate the above described alley
right-of-way, as shown on the attached map.
The subject alley right-of-way, acquired by dedication, presently contains
sewer, electric, gas, and telephone utility facilities. The subject vacation
request is made in order to replat the vacated alley right-of-way with adjacent
property, to expand the building area and provide more usable yard space.
The required and appropriate monetary consideration, $14,416.00, has been
placed in escrow with the Real Property Department, as required by the Land
Agent for the City of Fort Worth.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no
objections to this request, subject to the vacated right-of-way being replatted
with adjacent property, and any required utility easements are retained or
relocation of existing utilities at the applicants expense. A satisfactory
replat has been submitted.
