ORDINANCE N0 . ~7~~~~
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH REPEALING ORDINANCE
N0. 9862; ESTABLISHING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDI-
NANCE; AND DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY TO ENGROSS AND
ENROLL THE ORDINANCE IN THE OFFICIAL RECORDS OF THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH.
WHEREAS on April 27, 1987, the City Council of the City of Fort
Worth adopted Ordinance No. 9862 closing the benefit hearing for the
reconstruction of Paradise Street from Chenault to the Railtran
Right-of-Way and levying assessments against the property owners
adjacent to said portion of Paradise Street;
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Fort Worth has subse-
quently determined that no assessment should be levied against the
adjacent property owners for the reconstruction of Paradise Street
described in said ordinance;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
Ordinance No. 9862 is hereby repealed and shall be henceforth
null, void and unenforceable.
SECTION 2.
A release of the lien(s) imposed on the properties affected by
the adoption of Ordinance No. 9862 shall be executed and filed in
the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, subsequent to the
adoption of this Ordinance.

SECTION 3.
The City Secretary shall engross and enroll this ordinance in
the official records of the City of Fort Worth. This ordinance shall
be come effective on the date of its adoption by the City Council.

It is ~r_ecommended that an ordinance be adopted rescinding the assessments
•- ag-ainst -the properties zoned and used as single family or duplex residential
property on Paradise Street from Chenault to the Railtran Right-of-Way and
declaring such assessments to be null and void.

On April 27, 1987 (M&C G-7043), the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 9862
closing the benefit hearing for the reconstruction of Paradise Street from
Chenault to the Railtran Right-of-Way and levying the proposed assessments
On July 28, 1987 ((~1&C G-7160), the City Council adopted revisions to the
Assessment Paving Policy whereby no assessments will be levied for one- and
two-family residential property for both new construction and reconstruction in
CDBG qualifying areas so long as CDBG funds are available to finance 30 percent
of the cost of new construction and 15 percent of the cost of reconstruction.
The revised policy is applicable to all streets within the 1986-88 Capital
Improvement Program.
Paradise Street i s 1 i sted i n the 1986 - 88 Capital Improvement Program and i s
located in the Riverside Special Emphasis Area. As such, it qualifies for the
assessment exemption for residential property.
