BACKGROUND On February 10, 1987 (M&C C-10115), the City Council approved an agreement with the State Department of Highways and Public Transport;~tion (SDHPT) providing for the improvement of FM 1220 (Boat Club Road) from Ten Mile Bridge Road to Azle Avenue, in Council District 7. The improvements will result in a four lane roadway with a continuous left turn lane. This project was initiated by the SDHPT as part of the Federal Aid to Urban Systems - Minimum Allocation program, whereby the State pays for the pavement, and the City is responsible for the cost of curbs, gutters, and drainage facilities. On March 4, 1987 (M&C G-6980), the City Council ap~~roved the project and established March 32, 1987, as the date for the bene~Fit hearing. The SDHPT recently received bids for this project. PROJECT DESCRIPTION ROADWAY R.O.W. STREET LIMITS WIDTH-FEET WIDTH-FEET F.M 1220 Ten Mile Bridge 67 Variable, 100 (Boat Club Road) Road to Azle feet minimum. Avenue PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS It is proposed to improve FM 1220 (Boat Club Road) by constructing a hot-mix asphaltic concrete pavement of varying depth with six-innch high concrete curbs and eighteen-inch wide concrete gutters on an eight-inch thick stabilized subgrade so that the finished roadway will be sixty-seven feet wide. Driveway approaches where required will be replaced with the s~~me type of material as the existing improvements (Flex base, asphalt, or concrete) individually as shown on the construction plans. Storm drains will be installed in the street. ASSESSMENTS Assessments are proposed for curb and gutter and drainage only, since pavement costs are being provided by the State. _ ~ ~~~~ DATE REFERENCE suB~EB€NEFIT HEARING, ASSESSMENT PAVING PAGE NUMBER OF FM 1220 (BOAT CLUB ROAD) FROM. 2 or 2 3-31-87 ~ G-7020 TEN MILE BRIDGE ROAD TO AZLE AVENUE Based on standard City policy and the l.ow bid prices, the cost to the property owners for their share of the construction is approximately $171,053.87. Cost to the City of Fort Worth is approximately $118,071.76 which includes $2,862.63 for administration. It is the opinion of the Director of the Real Property Management Department that, as a result of the proposed construction, each parcel of adjacent "property will be enhanced in value by an amount equal to or greater than the proposed assessment.
