AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 99, TEXAS AND PACIFIC RAILWAY COMPANY' S ADDITION, FROM THE EAST LINE OF VIRGINIA AVENUE TO THE EAST LINE OF LOTS 7 AND 8, BLOCK 99, OF SAID ADDITION, BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1 . That the 20 foot wide east-west alley in Block 99, Texas and Pacific Railway Company' s Addition, from the east line of Virginia Avenue to the east line of Lots 7 and 8, Block 99, of said addition, be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as an alley or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever. SECTION 2 . That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said portion of the alley is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owners of the fee as provided by law, save and except that easements are retained for the recon- struction, operation and maintenance of any and all existing utilities . SECTION 3 . That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4 . That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage . APPROVE AS TO FORM AND LEGALITY: r City Attorney wP City of Fort Worth, Texas �a Mayor and Council Communication-' DATE REFERENCE SUBJECT: Proposed Closing - PAGE 3/9/64 NUMPZ-96 I East-West Alley in Block 99 1 o 1 Harbison-Fischer Manufacturing Company has requested the closing of the East-West Alley in Block 99, Texas and Pacific Railway Company's Addition, to permit expansion of its plant across the alley. The request is signed also by Texas and Pacific Railroad and by Waples-Platter Company, owners of property at the east end of the block. Maps showing the proposed clos- ing are attached. The private utility companies and Public Works , Traffic Engineering, Water, and Planning Departments have been contacted and do not object to abandon- ing the alley provided easements are retained for existing utilities . On February 12, 1964, the City Plan Commission reviewed the request and found that more desirable industrial development is possible by closing the alley. It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance closing the alley, provided easements are retained for existing utilities .
