AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS AND APPROPRIATIONS IN
THE GRANTS OPERATING FEDERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $52,644.00, SUBJECT TO
RECEIPT OF A REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE UNITED STATES FEDERAL BUREAU OF
INVESTIGATION, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REIMBURSING THE FORT WORTH POLICE
DEPARTMENT FOR OVERTIME COSTS RELATED TO WORK PERFORMED BY THE
DEPARTMENT'S OFFICERS ASSIGNED TO THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION'S
TARRANT COUNTY SAFE STREETS TASK FORCE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2016; PROVIDING
FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR
ORDINANCES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 in the Budget of the
City Manager,there shall also be increased estimated receipts and appropriations in the Grants Operating Federal Fund in the
amount of$52,644.00, subject to receipt of a reimbursement from the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, for the
purpose of reimbursing the Fort Worth Police Department for overtime costs related to work performed by the department's
officers assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Tarrant County Safe Streets Task Force for Fiscal Year 2016.
SECTION 2.
That should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason
by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions,
sections, or parts of sections of this ordinance,which said remaining provisions shall be and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 21873-09-2015 and all other ordinances and appropriations
amending the same except in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such other
ordinances and appropriations, in which instance said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances and appropriations are
hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption.

Adopt Appropriation Ordinance in the Amount of$52,644.00 for the Police Department's Participation in the
Federal Bureau of Investigation's Tarrant County Safe Streets Task Force (ALL COUNCIL DISTRICTS)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached appropriation ordinance increasing estimated
receipts and appropriations in the Grants Operating Federal Fund in the amount of$52,644.00 for the
Police Department's participation in e Federal Bureau of Investigation's Tarrant County Safe Streets
Task Force.

DISCUSSION:
The Tarrant County Safe Streets Task Force (TCSSTF) was created by the United States Federal Bureau
of Investigation to establish a cooperative effort f law enforcement resources. The TCSSTF identifies
and targets violent street gangs and criminal organizations responsible for drug trafficking, money
launderings alien smuggling and other violent crimes. The TCSSTF focuses on the apprehension of
dangerous fugitives when there is afederal investigative interest.. TCSSTF efforts enhance the
effectiveness of federal, state and local law enforcement resources by utilizing a well coordinated initiative
with innovative and effective techniques to convict and incarcerate dangerous offenders.
On September 14, 2010, ( &C C-24429) City Council authorized the execution of emorandum of
Understanding with the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation for the Police Department's
participation in the TCSSTF, Since that time, the Fort Worth Police Department has continued to
participate in the TCSSTF. 'There are three officers assigned tot the TCSSTF, their overtime expenses are
reimbursable under the Memorandum of Understanding. This Mayor and Council Communication is
necessary to appropriate funds for the reimbursement of overtime costs in the amount of$52,644.00 for
work performed by the officers assigned to Task Force for Fiscal Year 2016. Indirect costs are not eligible
for reimbursement. The City is not required to provide matching funds.
This contract will be with governmental entity, state agency or public institution of higher education:
(Federal Bureau of Investigation).
FISCAL INFORMATION / CERTIFICATION:
The Financial Management Services Director certifies that the Police Department is responsible for the
collection and deposit of funs due to the City„ Upon approval of the above recommendations, adoption of
the attached appropriation ordinance and receipt of the reimbursements, these funds will be deposited into
the Grants Operating Federal Fund.
