ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE DISCONTINUING TERRITORY FROM WITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS;
RELEASING TERRITORY FROM THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDIC-
TION OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; CONSENTING TO THE
ANNEXATION OF SAID TERRITORY BY THE CITY OF WESTOVER
HILLS, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL AMEND
EVERY PRIOR ORDINANCE IN DIRECT CONFLICT; PROVIDING THAT
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE; PROVIDING FOR SEVER-
ABILITY AND NAMING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS :
SECTION 1 .
That the hereinafter described territory within the cor-
porate limits of the City of Fort Worth be and the same is hereby
discontinued as a part of the City of Fort Worth; said territory
being:
A part of the Peterson Pate Survey, Abstract No. 1202,
Tarrant County, Texas, and a part of a tract of land
conveyed by the Amon G. Carter Estate to J. M. Leonard,
Trustee, and recorded in Volume 2952 , Page 582 , of the
Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas , and being more
particularly described as follows :
BEGINNING at a point in the City Limits line between the
City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the Village of Westover
Hills , Texas, said point being 560 feet southerly and
2 ,660 feet easterly from the most northerly northwest
corner of said Pate Survey, and 2 ,660 feet easterly from
the southerly southwest corner of said Amon G. Carter
Estate tract, and said point also being N 260 02' E , 9 .0
ft. from a point that is N 19 16 ' E , 454.8 ft.- from the
east corner of Lot 7, Block 27, Westover Hills , an
addition to the City of Fort Worth, as recorded in
Volume 388-10, Page 106 , of the Deed Records of Tarrant
County, Texas ;
THENCE N 260 02 ' E , 118. 5 ft. to an iron pin;
THENCE N 80 43 ' E, 168 .0 ft. to an iron pin;
THENCE N 80 37 ' W, 50 .0 ft. to an iron pin;
THENCE N 670 29 ' E, 305 .5 ft. to an iron pin;
THENCE S 840 23 ' E, 47. 5 ft. to an iron pin;
THENCE S 460 38 ' E , 130 . 5 ft. to an iron pin;
THENCE S 700 51 ' E, 214.6 ft. to an iron pin;
THENCE S 150 08 ' W, 261 . 7 ft. to an iron pin;
THENCE S 530 37 ' W, 40 ft. to a point in said City Limit
Line;
THENCE N 890 49 ' W with said City Limit Line 596 .5 ft .
to the place of beginning, and containing 5 . 13 acres .

SECTION 2 .
THAT the above described territory is shown on Exhibit B
which is attached hereto and expressly incorporated herein by
reference for the purpose of illustrating and depicting the
locations of the hereinabove described territory.
SECTION 3 .
That the City of Fort Worth hereby relinquishes to the City
of Westover Hills all extraterritorial jurisdictional rights over
the hereinabove described territory, under the provisions of the
Texas Municipal Annexation Act (Article 970a, Revised Civil
Statutes of Texas, as amended) .
SECTION 4 .
That the City of Fort Worth hereby consents to the annexa-
tion of the hereinabove described territory by the City of
Westover Hills .
SECTION 5 .
THAT thereafter the common boundary line between the Cities
of Fort Worth and Westover Hills shall be:
A part of the Peterson Pate Survey, Abstract No. 1202,

SECTION 6 .
That this ordinance shall and does amend every prior ordin-
ance in conflict herewith, but as to all other ordinances or
sections of ordinances not in direct conflict , this ordinance
shall be, and the same is hereby made cumulative.
SECTION 7 .
THAT it is hereby declared to be the intent of the City
Council that the sections , paragraphs , sentences, clauses and
phrases of this ordinance are severable, and if any phrase,
clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be
declared unconstitutional by the valid judgment or decree of any
court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality shall
not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses , sentences,
paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same would
have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation
in this ordinance of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause,
sentence, paragraph or section.
SECTION 8 .
THAT this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage , and it is so ordained.

On January 24, 1978, the City Council adopted a joint resolution providing
for realignment of the boundaries between Fort Wcr=h and Westover Hills
(M&C PZ-833) . rhe City Council also authorized and directed the staff to
submit boundary adjustment ordinanaces as necessary to effectuate the terns
of the agreement.
An ordinance has been prepared providing for discontinuance of territory
from Fort Worth in accordance with the joint resolution. A map (Exhibl t
illustrating the territory to be discontinued is attached. Also att-cLc(
is a map (Exhibit "A") illustrating the land to be discontinued by Westover-
Hills and to be subsequently annexed by Fort Worth.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the ordinance discontinuing
that territory to be subsequently annexed by Westover Hills.
