An ordinance ammending Sections 768, 7702 771, and 7722
Chapter 82 Title 61 of the revised ordinances of the city of Fort
Worth, as codified by Willain D. *llliams and T. T. Powell and providing
for the regulation of the use of Automobiles within the city limits
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners, of the city of
Forst. Worth.
Sec. 1. That Section 768 Chapter 8, Title 6 of the revised
ordinances of the City, of Fort Worth, as codified by William D. WilliAms
and T. J. Powell be so ' ammended as to hereafter read as follows;
It shall hereafter be unlawful for any- person, firm or cor
poration to drive, propel or to use or to cause to be driven, grope
or used in, upon, along or across any, public square, street, alley,or,
public place in the City of *ort Worth any vehicle or vehialesof the
kind commonly known and sled as automobiles, unless the owner of
such vehlc2e or vehicles shall have complied with the provisions of
Sections 7692 7702 and 771 of this chapter.
Sec 770 of said revised ordinances be ammended so ss to
read as follows;
It s?iall lCereafter be unlawful for �tny person, firm or cera--
poration to drive, propel or to use, or cause to be driven, prop4led
or used in, along, or across any public square, street, alley, or
public place in t1je dity of Fort Worth any vehicle or vehicles af• the
kind. commonly known and styled as automobiles, even though the same
be duly registertod and numbered as provided in Sec. 769 of this chapter
unless the said vehicle or vehicles shall be provided with at least
two -mss which shall be lighted during the hours of darkness, and
which shall be of such character, size and strength as to be plainly
visible for one-fourth of a mile in front of said vehicle, and it shall
also be unlawful unless the said vehicle or vehicles shall be provided
with a good and sufficent gong or horn capable of giving such warning
as can be pI&I- 2ly heard for a distance of at least six` hundred feet .
It shall also be unlawful if the said vehicle or vehicles
utC@vA at a greater rate of speed than eight miles an hour.
Sec . 3. That Section 774 of said revised ordinances be

ammended ao as to read as follows;
It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person, firm, or
corporation to drive, propel or to use or cause to be driven, propelled
or used in, upon, along or across any public square, street, alley or
public place in the City of Fort Worth any vehicle or vehicles of the
kind commonly known and styled as automobiles, unless such person,
firm or corporation shall sound the gong or blow the horn herein-
before provided for at such times and places as may be necessary to
give notice to all persons upon said street or about to enter upon the
same of the approach of said automobile. mhe said party in charge
of said automobile to exercise great caution and care in sounding said
gong or blowing said horn so as to give proper notice of its approach
and at the same time to see to it that the same is not sounded
or blown in such way as to unnecessarily excite or alarm any horse
being driven or riden upon sial street. And it shall be the duty of
said party in charge of said automobile to at all times be on the look
out to prevent frightening horses which may be upon said street and in
the event such parties discover that #hie, horze is grightoned, a 3d
be his duty to check thesaiii automobile or so veer the same around
said horse or horses as to prevent frightening the same sofar as it is
practicable so to do.
Sec 4 . That Section 772 of said revised ordinances be
ammended so as to read as follows;
Any person, firm or corporation driving, propelling or useing
or causing to be driven, propelled or used in, upon, along or across

Worth any vehicle or vehicles of the kind commonly known and styled

as automobiles contrary to any of the provisions of this ordinance,.w ?d
of the various sections thereof, or without complying with all of the
regulatione herein provided, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and on conviction thereof shall be •.fined not less than One Dollair nor
mQ an two hundred dollars,
