ORDINANCE NO. ~~
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GUISHING A CERTAIN 5' UTILITY EASEMENT LYING WITHIN LOT 2,
BLOCK 7, GREAT SOUTHWEST INDUSTRIAL PARK, G.S.C. MARK IV
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, AS MORE SPECIFICALLY
DESCRIBED HEREIN; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the 5' utility easement within Lot 2, Block 7, Great
Southwest Industrial Park, G.S.C. Mark IV Addition to the City of
Fort Worth running parallel and immediately adjacent to the east
boundary line of said Lot a distance of 345.02', and continuing
parallel and immediately adjacent to the south boundary line of said
Lot a distance of 869.5' , as said 5' utility easement is more spe-
cifically depicted on the plat of said Industrial Park recorded in
Volume 388-182, Page 32, Plat Records, Tarrant County, Texas, to
which reference is hereby made, be and the same is vacated, aban-
doned and permanently closed and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating an existing
5' wide utility easement located parallel and adjacent to the rear property line
( 5' x 345.02') and the south property 1 i ne (5' x 869.5') of and within 1 of 2 ,
Block 7, Great Southwest Industrial Park, G.S.C. Mark IV, as recorded in Volume
388-182, Page 32, P.R.T.C.T.
Discussion
M.A. Blubaugh and James N. Summers, owners of abutting property, have requested
that the City vacate the above-described utility easement, as shown on the
attached map.
The subject easement, acquired by dedication, is platted but contains no utility
facilities. The subject vacation request is made in order to utilize the vacated
easement as part of the subject property, thus expanding the building area and
providing more usable yard space.
The required and appropriate monetary consideration has been placed in escrow
with the Real Property Department, as required by the Land Agent for the City of
Fort Worth.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objec-
tions to this request. A satisfactory replat has been submitted.
