ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GUISHING A PART OF TRAVIS AVENUE AS MORE SPECIFICALLY
DESCRIBED HEREIN; RETAINING UTILITY AND NECESSARY DRAINAGE
EASEMENTS; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LANDS;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVID-
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That part of the street and public right-of-way of Travis
Avenue, lying between and adjacent to Lot 11, Block 3, of 5.0.
Moodie's Subdivision of Block 22/23 Fields Welch Addition to the
City of Fort Worth, and Lot 1, Block "D", Hendrick's Subdivision of
Martin and Moodie's Subdivision of Block 3/24, Fields Welch Addition
to the City of Fort Worth, said part being also referred to as the
1400 Block of Travis Avenue, be and the same is vacated, abandoned,
and permanently closed and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated
street and public right-of-way is hereby released and shall revert
to the adjacent owners as provided by law SAVE AND EXCEPT that
easements are retained for any and all existing and prospective
utilities and any and all existing and prospective drainage require-
menu , as necessary.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances orr,parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed. -~

SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating the 1400
block of Travis Avenue, from Ingram Street to Myrtle Street, located adjacent to
Lot I1, Block 3, S. 0. Moodie's Subdivision of Block 22/23 of Fields Welch Addi-
ion, as recorded in Volume 35, Page 162, D.R.T.C.T., and Lot 1, Block "D",
Hendrick's Subdivision of Martin & Moodie's Subdivision of Block 3/24 of Fields
elch Addition, as recorded in Volume 106, Page 37, D.R.T.C.T., all as recom-
ended by the City-Plan Commission.

r. Glen J. Good, on behalf of Family Service, Inc., applicant and owner of abut-
ing property, has requested that the City vacate the 1400 block of Travis Avenue
right-of-way as more fully described above.
he subject street right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is open and paved, but
ithout curb and gutter; there are also sewer, electric, telephone and gas utili-
y facilities contained with the subject right-of-way, for which appropriate
asements must be retained.
he required and appropriate monetary consideration has been placed in escrow
ith the Real Property Department, as required by the Land Agent for the City of
ort Worth.
eviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objec-
ions to this request, subject to the vacated right-of-way being replatted with
djacent property, to include retention of required utility easements. A satin-
actory replat has been submitted.
