HomeMy WebLinkAbout2016/02/02-Minutes-City Council-Executive Session CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION FEBRUARY 2, 2016 After proper notice given pursuant to the Texas Open Meetings Act, Mayor Price adjourned the Council meeting of the Fort Worth City Council at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, to convene into the Special City Council Meeting for the closed Executive Session in the Pre- Council Chamber of the Fort Worth Municipal Building. Present: Mayor Betsy Price Mayor Pro tem Salvador Espino, District 2 Council Member W.B. Police Chief Mattie Parker, Mayor's Office CITY OF FORT WORTH,TEXAS SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 2,2016 PAGE 2 of 2 With a quorum of the City Council Members present,the Fort Worth City Council convened into closed Executive Session at 4:38 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, in the Pre-Council Chamber of the Fort Worth Municipal Building to discuss matters pertaining to the following: 1. Seek the advice of its attorneys concerning the following pending or contemplated litigation or other matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9 of the Texas State Bar Rules and as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code: a. Eldridge Edney v. City of Fort Worth, Jeffrey Halstead in his individual capacity, and Joel Fitzgerald in his official capacity, Civil Action No. 4-15-CV-240-0, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division; b. Zamora v. City of Houston, 798 F. 3d 326 (5h Cir. 2015); c. Legal issues concerning property located at 2607 Simondale; d. Legal issues concerning the Historic Stop 6 Sunrise Edition Overlay; e. Legal issues concerning Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number Eight (Lancaster Corridor TIF)Development Agreement with Cleopatra Investments, Ltd.; and f. Legal issues concerning any item listed on today's City Council meeting agendas; 2. Deliberate the purchase, sale, lease or value of real property in accordance with Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code. Deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third party; and 3. Deliberate concerning economic development negotiations as authorized by Section 551.087 of the Texas Government Code; and 4. Deliberate the deployment, or specific occasions for implementation, of security personnel or devices, in accordance with Section 551.076 of the Texas Government Code; and There was no formal action taken by the City Council on the items discussed during the Executive Session and with no further business to be conducted, Mayor Price adjourned the meeting at 5:48 p.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.
