HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 9543.~. v ., ORDINANCE NO. ~ '~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING BY $9,836 THE ESTIMATED REVENUES ACCRUING TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR ' FISCAL YEAR 1985-1986, SAID SUM BEING DONATED BY THE FORT WORTH GARDEN CENTER, INC., AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE INCREASED ESTIMATED REVENUES OF THE GENERAL FUND THE SUM OF $9,836 TO PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT ACCOUNT NO. 80-20-60 FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING TO FUND THE SALARY OF ONE GARDENER II POSITION AT THE BOTANIC GARDEN; PRO- VIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the estimated revenues accruing to the General Fund of the City of Fort Worth for the fiscal year 1985-1986 are hereby in- creased by $9,836.00, said sum being donated by Fort Worth Garden Center, Inc., to the City of Fort Worth; and that in addition to those amounts allocated to the various City departments and programs for the fiscal year 1985-1986 by virtue of Ordinance No. 9458, and supplemental appropriations, and in the budget of the City Manager, there is hereby appropriated from the increased estimated revenues of the General Fund the sum of $9,836.00, said sum to be transferred to Park and Recreation Account No. 80-20-60 for the purpose of continuing to fund the salary of one Gardener II position at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all provisions of ordinances and of the Code of the City of Fort Worth, Texas (1964), .. ~, ~ t this ordinance are severable, and, if any phrase, clause, sentence, ,paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared unconstitu- tional by the valid judgment or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the city Council without the incorporation in this ordinance of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section. SECTION 4. The City Secretary of the City of Fort Tnlorth is hereby directed to engross and enroll this ordinance by copying the caption and `Section 1 in the minutes of the City Council and by filing this ordinance in the ordinance records of the City. SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, and it is so ordained. Accept the gift in the amount of $9,836; and 2. Adopt a supplemental appropriations ordinance appropriating $9,836 from in- creased estimated budgeted revenues of the General Fund to the Parks and Recreation Department Account No. 80-20-60 for the purpose of funding 100% of the salary of one Gardener II position (including fringe benefits) at the Botanic Garden. Background• The Fort Worth Botanical Society has presented to the Park and Recreation De- partment a gift of $9,836 with the understanding that it will be appropriated to the Botanic Garden to continue the funding of a Gardener II position at the Japanese Garden. The Gardener was added to the Japanese Garden workforce in May of 1985 (M&C G-6271 of March 5, 1985) with the Botanical Society's gift for that purpose. The gift covers salary, group health insurance and the City's contribution to the retirement fund. The Fort Worth Botanical Society has announced its intention to contribute every six (6) months to continue the services of this Gardener II position at the Japanese Garden. The Park and Recreation Advisory Board and the staff thanked the Fort Worth Botanical Society for this gift and voted to recommend acceptance of the gift and adoption of the related appropriation ordinance. Financing: Adopt a Supplemental appropriation ordiance .an the General Fund #O1 thereby increasing appropriation and estimate receipts in the General Park and Recreation Horricultural Services 80-20-60 IrPdex Code 303404 in the amount of $'9836.
