ORDINANCE NO. y2~~~
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GUISHING THAT CERTAIN PORTION DESCRIBED MORE SPECIFICALLY
HEREIN OF THE 10' EAST-WEST ALLEY IN BLOCK 9, OF THE
GRANDVIEW ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING
FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND(S); REPEALING ALL ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECT ION 1 .
THAT the portion, described more specifically in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein for all pur-
poses, of the 10' east-west alley located in Block 9 of the
Grandview Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas,
as said Addition is shown in Volume 63, Page 106 of the Plat Records
of Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same is vacated, abandoned, and
permanently closed and extinguished.
SECT ION 2 .
That the fee to the land(s) in the above described vacated
portion of the 10' alley is hereby released and shall revert to the
adjacent owners} as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements
are retained for any and all existing and prospective utilities and
any and all existing and prospective drainage requirements, as
necessary.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.

That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

BEING the description of a portion of 10 foot alley which
lies on and across Jennings and Cooper';s Subdivision of Block 9,
of GRANDVIEW ADDITION. An Addition to the City of Fort Worth,
Tarrant County, Texas, according to Plat Recorded in Volume 63,
Page 106, Plat Records, Tarrant County, Texas, and further
described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which is the common South corner of
Lots 8 and 9 said Block 9, and in the North line of said 10 foot
alley.
THENCE S. 00° 01' 15" W., 10.00 feet to a point in the South
line of said 10 foot alley and also being the common North corner
of Lots 27 and 28, said Block 9;
THENCE West 191.14 feet with said South line of 10 foot
alley to its intersection with the East Right-of-Way line of
Eighth Avenue (68' R. O.W. );
THENCE N. 00° 01' 15" E., with said East Right-of-Way line a
distance of 10.00 feet to a point in the North line of said 10
foot alley and the South lot line of Lot 1, said Block 9;

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating the westerly
I~T~,l,..i14' of an 10' wide alley located adjacent to and between Lots 1-8 and 20-27,
Block 9, Grandview Addition, as recorded in Volume 63, Page 106, Plat Records,
'1'ATr`"rc'aht County, Texas, as recommended by the City Plan Commission.

DISCUSSION
Bill Wilson, the Director of Ancillary Service for Psychiatric Institute of Fort
Worth, owner of abutting property, has requested that the City vacate the above-
described portion of alley right-of-way, as shown on the attached map.
The subject alley right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is not open on the
ground, but does contain sewer, electric, gas, and telephone utility facilities.
The subject vacation request is made in order to replat the vacated right-of-way
with adjoining property to facilitate the expansion of the Psychiatric Hospital
Cornpl ex.
The required and appropriate monetary consideration has been placed in escrow
with the Real Property Department, as required by the Land Agent for the City of
Fort Worth.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the sub-
ject right-of-way be vacated as requested.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objection
to this request, provided the vacated right-of-way is replatted with adjacent
property and any necessary utility easements are retained on the required
replat. A satisfactory replat has been submitted.
