ORDINANCE N0.
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GUISHING A PART OF THAT CERTAIN ALLEY LYING WITHIN AND
COMPRISING A PART OF BLOCK 2 OF JOHNSON'S ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, SAID PART BEING DESCRIBED MORE SPECIF-
ICALLY HEREIN; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE TN SAID
LAND(S); REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT THE part of that certain alley lying within and comprising
a part of Block 2 of Johnson's Addition to the City of Fort Worth,
as described and shown on the plat. recorded in Volume 106, Page 112
of the Plat Records, Tarrant County, Texas, said part being 250' in
length and comprising the entire width of the alley adjacent to Lots
6-10 and 71-15, be and the same is vacated, abandoned, and perma-
nently closed and extinguished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land (s) in the part of that certain alley
described above is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent
owner(s) as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements are
retained for any and aII existing and prospective utilities and for
drainage and surface water run-off, if necessary.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt an Ordinance vacating a portion of
the 20' wide north/south alley located within Block 2, adjacent to Lot s
6-10 and
_
11-15, Block ?., Johnson's Addition, extending a distance of 250.0' in a southerly
direction from N. W. 29th Street to the south line of Lot 15, all as recorded in
Volume 106, Page 112, P.R.T.C.T., as recommended by the Plan Commission.

Discussion•
Hector Lopez, Pastor, on behalf of the Community First Church of God, owner of
abutting property, has requested that the City vacate the above-described 20'
wide north/south alley, as shown on the attached map.
The subject alley right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is not open on the
ground, but contains telephone and electric utility facilities. The subject
vacation request is made in order to replat the vacated rights-of-way with
adjacent property, to expand the building area, and :provide more usable yard
space.
The required and appropriate monetary consideration has been placed in escrow
with the Real Property Department, as required by the Land Agent for the City of
Fort Worth.
Reviewing City departments` and private utility companies have raised no
objections to this request, subject to the vacated right-of-way being replatted
with adjacent property to include retention of required utility easements. A
satisfactory replat has been submitted.
