AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT ALL OF THE RESIDUE OF
ELLIS ROAD WEST OF I-820 AND THE SIX FOOT UTILITY
EASEMENT ALONG THE WEST LINE OF LOT 13, BLOCK 2,
AND LOT 15, BLOCK 1, AND ALONG THE NORTH LINES OF
LOTS 13, 14 AND 15, BLOCK 1, D. M. DAVIS SUBDIVISION
TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS,
BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE
REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH
IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That all of the following described residue of Ellis
Road west of Highway IH 820 be and the same is hereby closed,
abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thorough-
fare of any kind or character whatever:
BEGINNING at a point in the westerly right of
way of Highway IH 820 at intersection with a circle
of west end of Ellis Road in the southerly line of
Lot 15, Block 1, at 17.28 feet along circle from
the southeast corner of said Lot 15; thence continue
around said circle 113.1 feet to a point;
THENCE West along the north line of Ellis Road
5.7 feet to end of road;
THENCE S. 00 04' W. 50.0 feet to the south line
of Ellis Road for corner;
THENCE East along the south line of Ellis Road
5.7 feet to the beginning of a circle with a 50.0
foot radius;
THENCE around said circle and the northerly line
of Lot 13, Block 2, said Davis Subdivision, 54.41 feet
to the intersection with the said westerly right of
way of Highway IH 820 for corner;
THENCE N. 290 20' E. along said right of way
110.65 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2.
That the utility easement 6 feet in width and 514.56
feet in length along the West line of Lot 13, Block 2, and
Lot 15, Block 1, and along the north lines of Lots 13, 14
and 15, Block 1, D. M. Davis Subdivision, be and the same is here-
by extinguished, vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as
an easement for public utilities.
SECTION 3.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee
to the land in said street and easement above described is
hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the
fee as provided by law.
SECTION 4.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

W. E. Pope, owner of all adjoining land, has requested that the City
vacate all of the residue of Ellis Road west of I-820 and a utility ease-
ment a width of six (6) feet and a length of 514.56 feet along the west
line of Lot 13, Blk. 2 and Lot 15, Blk. 1; and, along the north lines of
Lots 14 and 15, Blk. 1, D. M. Davis Subdivision as shown on the attached
map.
Subject right-of-way and easement, acquired by dedication, are unimproved.
The Applicant proposes to plat the vacated right-of-way with his adjoining
property, if this request is granted.
City Departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request
and have no objections provided the Applicant plats the vacated right-of-
way with adjoining property and provides all necessary utility and drain-
age easements.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption
of an ordinance vacating the public right--of-way and utility easement as
requested, subject to the conditions recommended above by the City depart-
ments and private utility companies. The Applicant has submitted a satis-
factory replat.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of-
way and utility easement as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
