Insurance companies and the public in general are finding the lot to be the cheapest storage facility in town. Consequently, the vehicles remain in storage while adjustors, lien-holders and the like take their time in deciding disposition. If this practice continues, the Police Depart- ment Pound may find itself in a "No Vacancy" situation. One way to alleviate this problem would be to increase the daily storage fee from two ($2.00) dollars per day to five ($5.00) dollars per day after a stated period of storage. It is proposed that the storage fee escalate after the fifth 24 hour period. Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached amendment to the Wrecker Ordinance.
