AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1692, WHICH IS
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAFFIC IN THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH; TEXAS, BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 30(a), WHICH
PROHIBITS DURING CERTAIN HOURS PARKING OTHER THAN
PARALLEL =H THE ROADWAY IN A DEFINED AREA, BY ADD-
ING THERETO SECTION 30(b), WHICH RESTRICTS PARKING
OF ARTICULATED VEHICLES WITH SIX OR MORE WHEELS WITH-
IN A DEFINED AREA, BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 30(c),
WHICH PROHIBITS PARKING OF PASSENGER VEHICLES IN
FRONT OR ALONGSIDE LOADING PLATFORMS WITHIN A DE-
FINED AREA; DEFINING TERMS; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL
OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; FIXING A PENALTY
FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF; AND NAMING THE EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1,
That Ordinance No. 1692 be amended by the addition of Section 30(a)
and Section 30(b) and Section 30(c) to Ordinance No. 1692. That Section
30(a) shall read as follows:
SECTION 30(a).
Between the hours of 11 A. M. and 6 P. M., it shall
be unlawful for the owner or driver of any vehicle to park
said vehicle or permit the same to be parked on any road-
way other than parallel with the edge of the roadway or
curb of said roadway in a zone bounded by the north curb
line of Belknap Street on the north, the south curb line
of Lancaster Avenue on the south, the west curb line of
Taylor Street on the west, and the east curb line of Cal-
houn Street on the east; except that this regulation shall
not prevent the parking of any vehicle at any loading plat-
form situated on or alongside °any roadway in such zone in
a manner making for the expeditious unloading and delivery
or picking up and loading of materials and merchandise at
such platform, and while such vehicle is actually being used
for such purposes., except that on Lancaster Avenue in said
zone, it shall be unlawful to park other than parallel with
the edge of the roadway at any time.
That Section 30(b) shall read as follows:
SECTION 30(b).
It shall be unlawful for the owner or driver of any
articulated vehicle with six or more wheels to park such
vehicle or permit the same to be parked on any roadway in
a zone bounded by the north curb line of Belknap Street on
the north, the south curb line of Lancaster Avenue on the
south, the west curb line of Taylor Street on the west, and
the east curb line of Calhoun Street on the east; except
that it be parked at a loading platform situated on or along-
side any roadway in such zone for the purpose of unloading
and delivering or picking up and loading of materials and
merchandise at such platform,, and while such vehicle is
actually being used for such purposes, in which event the
front or tractor portion of such vehicle shall, as far as
physically possible, be turned parallel to the edge of the
roadway and headed in the direction of the traffic, except
that on Lancaster Avenue in said zone it shall be unlawful
to park other than parallel with the edge of the roadway
at any time.
That Section 30(c) shall read as follows:
SECTION 30(c).
It shall be unlawful for the owner or driver of any
passenger car to park said car or permit the same to be
parked in a roadway in front of or alongside any loading
platform' in a zone bounded by the north curb line of Belknap
Street on the north, the south curb line of Lancaster Avenue
on the south, the west curb line of Taylor Street on the
west, and the east curb line of Calhoun Street on the east.
SECTION 2.

The words "parking" and "park" as used in Section 30(a) and Section
30(b) and Section 30(c) shall mean the stopping or standing of a vehicle,
whether occupied or not, upon a roadway.
The words "passenger car" as used in Section 30(c) shall mean any
motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, designed or used primarily for the
transportation of persons.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all provisions in Ordi-
nance No. 1692 except in those instances where the provisions of this ordi-
nance are in direct conflict with such provisions, in which instances said
conflicting provisions are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4..
Any person found guilty of violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall be fined in any sum not to exceed One Hundred Dollars
($100.00).
SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and publication as required by law.
