ORDINANCE N0.
AN ORDINANCE DISCONTINUING TERRITORY FROM
WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT THIS
ORDINANCE SHALL AMEND EVERY PRIOR ORDINANCE
IN DIRECT CONFLICT HEREWITHI PROVIDING THAT
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF ALL
PRIOR ORDINANCES NOT IN DIRECT CONFLICT; AND
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY AND NAMING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described territory within the
corporate limits of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, be and the
same is hereby discontinued as a part of the City of Fort Worth
Texas; said territory being the area shown on Exhibit "A",
attached hereto and made a part hereof, and described by metes
and bounds as follows: ~
Being 1.131 acres of land out of the William Welch Survey,
Abstract No. 1668, City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County,
Texas and being all that certain tract'•of land conveyed to
Waterway Park North Associates according to the deed
recorded in VolLUne 8275, Page 1967, of the Deed Records of
Tarrant County, Texas and more particularly described by
metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at an iron rod at the southwest corner of said
1.131 acre tract being the most westerly northwest corner
of a 74.488-acre tract of land conveyed to Waterway Park
North Associates according to the deed recorded in Volume
810$, Page 21.39 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County,
Texas;
Thence N 02° 12' 03" W, 53.62 feet along the west boundary
line of said 1.131 acre tract to an iron rod at the
northwest corner thereof;

Thence N 66° 22' 30" E, 640.50 feet along the north
boundary line of said 1.131 acre tract to an iron rod;
Thence North, 196.65 feet to an iron rod at the most
northerly northeast corner of said 1.131 acre tract lying
in the westerly boundary line of aforesaid 74.488 acre
tract;
Thence S 08° 12' 45" E, 278.81 feet along the east boundary
line of said 1.131 acre tract to an iron rod at the
southeast corner thereof;
Thence S 69° 42' 24" W, 665.92 feet along the south
boundary line of said 1.131 acre tract to the Place of
Beginning, containing 1.131 acres of land.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior
ordinance in direct conflict herewith, but as to all other
ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict
herewith, this ordinance shall and the same is hereby made
cumulative.
SECTION 3.
That it is hereby declared to be the intent of the City
Council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and
phases of this ordinance are severable, and if any phrase,
clause, sentence, or paragraph or section of this ordinance
shall be declared unconstitutional by the valid judgment or
decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such
unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the remaining

phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this
ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the City
Council without the incorporation in this ordinance of any such
unconstitutional phrase, sentence, paragraph or section.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its publication and passage on second reading
as provided for in Section 35 of Chapter XXVII of the Charter of
the City of Fort Worth, Texas and it is so ordained.

Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt on first reading the attached
disannexation ordinance.
D i scussi on•
On August 26, 1985, Mr. James W. Schell , attorney for Waterway Park North
Associates, requested disannexation of a 1.131-acre tract located south of
Meadowbrook Drive and immediately west of the Arlington City 1 imits.
The City of Arlington has agreed to annex the subject site when the City of
Fort Worth approves the disannexation request.
A Joint Resolution and Agreement has been approved by the City Councils of both
Fort Worth and Arlington.
