ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING AND EX-
TINGUISHING THE 12-FOOT WIDE NORTH/SOUTH ALLEY LOCATED
IN BLOCK 6, J. C. TERRELL'S SUBDIVISION OF FIELDS WELCH
ADDITION, FROM DASHWOOD STREET SOUTHWARD TO WEST
ROSEDALE STREET; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID
LAND; RETAINING EASEMENTS IN SAID LAND FOR EXISTING AND
PROSPECTIVE UTILITIES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the 12-foot wide north/south alley located in Block 6,
J. C. Terrell's Subdivision of Fields Welch Addition, from
Dashwood Street southward to West Rosedale Street, be and the same
is vacated, abandoned and permanently closed and extinguished as a
public alley right-of-way.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in the above described vacated pub-
lic alley right-of-way is hereby released and shall revert to the
adjacent owners as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements
are retained for any and all existing and prospective utilities.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so
ordained.

Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating the 12' wide
north/south alley in Block 6, J. C. Terrell's Subdivision of Fields Welch Addi-
tion, from Dashwood Street southward to West Rosedale Street, as recommended by
the City Plan Commission.
Discussion
Mr. Harold Granek, with the written consent of all abutting property owners, has
requested that the City vacate the 12' wide north/south alley in Block 6, J. C.
Terrell's Subdivision of Fields Welch Addition, from Dashwood Street southward to
West Rosedale Street, as shown on the attached map.
The subject alley right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is open on the ground and
contains electric, telephone and sewer utility facilities, which will require re-
tention of utility easements. The subject vacation request is made in order to
replat the vacated right-of-way with adjacent property, thus expanding the
buildiny area and providing more usable yard space.
The required and appropriate monetary consideration has been placed in escrow
with the Real Property Department of the City.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objec-
tions to this request, subject to the vacated alley right-of-way being replatted
with adjoining property and required utility easements being retained on the re-
plat. A satisfactory replat has been submitted.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the sub-
ject alley right-of-way be vacated as requested.
