DISCUSSION: The 2014 Bond Program (2014 CIP) includes sidewalk funds in the amount of$10,000,000.00 for citywide installation of sidewalks over a five year period. The project goal of the sidewalk program is to focus on streets with high pedestrian activity where sidewalks or Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) barrier free ramps do not exist, gaps in the existing sidewalk network exist or there are opportunities to extend the current sidewalk network. The sidewalk program seeks to improve the use, safety and comfort for pedestrians. The 2014 CIP Sidewalk Contract No. 4 provides for the construction of approximately 10,335 linear feet of sidewalk and 68 ADA barrier free ramps to fill gaps in areas of high pedestrian activity that are included in City Project No. 02704 of the 2014 Bond Program. Construction is scheduled to begin March 2016 with project completion by August 2016. The appropriate blanks in Section A must be filled out by all nonresident bidders in order for your bid to meet specifications. The failure of nonresident bidders to do so will automatically disqualify that bidder.
