AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GUISHING THE STREET RIGHTS-OF-WAY KNOWN AS WEST ARLINGTON
LAKE DRIVE AND JACKSON COURT, AS MORE PARTICULARLY DE-
SCRIBED HEREIN; RETAINING THE UTILITY EASEMENTS THEREIN;
PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC-
TIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS;
SECTION 1.
That the street rights-of-way known as West Arlington Lake
Drive and Jackson Court and described more particularly in the
attached Exhibit "A", which is incorporated herein by reference, be
and the same are vacated, abandoned and permanently closed and
exting wished.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land described above is hereby released and
shall revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law, SAVE AND
EXCEPT that easements are retained for any and all existing and
prospective utilities within the land described above.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed .
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance vacating
West Arlington Lake Drive from Quail Road west to the west lot lines of Lots 10-M
& 10-N, Block 2, Handley Heights South Addition, and to vacate Jackson Court
north from West Arlington Lake Drive adjacent to Lots AR-10 and 10-J through
10-Pi, Handley Heights South Addition.
Discussion
Henry Development Company (HENCO), with the consent of all other abutting
property owners, has requested that the City vacate the two street rights-of-way
described above and as shown on the attached map.
The two subject street rights-of-way, acquired by dedication, are partially open
on the ground, unimproved, and contain water, electric, telephone, and gas
utility facilities. The subject vacation request is made in order to replat the
vacated rights-of-way with adjacent property, thus expanding the building area
and providing more usable yard space.
The required and appropriate monetary consideration has been placed in escrow
with the Real Property Department of the City.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no objec-
tions to this request, subject to the vacated rights-of-way being replatted with
adjoining property and required utility easements being retained on the replat.
A satisfactory replat has been submitted.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the two
subject street rights-of-way be vacated as requested.
