Recomr~endation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance changinc:~
the street name of Guilfiord Road, in its entirety, between Pershiny Avenue anct
the intersection at 1,lest Vickery Blvd. to Bryant Irvin Road North.
Background
The offices of Llewellyn Realty, Inc., representing a group of owners and
developers of property along Guilford Road, have requested that the City change
the name of Guilford Road, from Pershiny Avenue to the intersection at blest
Vickery Boulevard, to Bryant Irvin Road North, as shown on the attached map.
All reviewing City Departments, along with the Postmaster, and the State Highway
Department, have raised no objections to this request. The Traffic Engineering
Division has submitted a cost estimate of $1,067.08 relative to the change of
street signs along the subject street. J. C. Llewellyn has indicated that such
costs will be entirely defrayed by the applicants of this request.
A public hearing is scheduled for today's City Council meeting, and all property
ovaners have been notified.
