AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, CLOSING AND EXTINGUISH- ING THE 3500 AND 3600 BLOCKS OF SOUTH JENNINGS AVENUE, A SIXTY FOOT WIDE PUBLIC STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY, FROM BIDDISON STREET SOUTHWARD TO BUTLER STREET; VACATING, ABANDONING, CLOSING AND EXTINGUISHING A PORTION OF THE 500 BLOCK OF RIPY STREET, A SIXTY FOOT WIDE PUBLIC STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY, FROM SOUTH JENNINGS AVENUE WESTWARD TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF LOT 24, BLOCK 8, SOUTH FORT WORTH ADDITION; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF FEE IN SAID LANDS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT THE following be and the same are vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed and extinguished as public street rights-of-way: A. The 3500 and 3600 blocks of South Jennings Avenue, a sixty foot wide public street right-of-way, from Biddison Street southward to Butler Street; and B. A portion of the 500 Block of Ripy Street, a sixty foot wide public street right-of-way, from South Jennings Avenue westward to the northwest corner of Lot 24, Block 8, South Fort Worth Addition. SECTION 2. That the fee to the land in the above described vacated public street rights-of-way is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law, SAVE AND EXCEPT that easements are retained for any and all existing and prospective utilities. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or- dained. The subject vacation request is made~~n order to replat the vacated rights-of-way with adjoining property, thus expanding ahe buid.ing area. and providing more usabie yard space.. The necessary and appropriate monetary consideration has been .placed in escrow with the Real Property Department of the City. Reviewing City Departments and private utility companies have raised no objections to this request, subject to the vacated right-of-way being replatted with adjacent property.. A satisfactory replat has been submitted.. ~.: The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the subject street right-of-way be vacated as requested..
