HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 9383~ ,"~ :~- d ORDINANCE NO. ~L/~~ AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED REVENUES TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1985 BY TRANSFERRING THERETO $870.00 IN SPECIAL GIFT FUNDS, ACCOUNT NO. 088-036005-00, AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE INCREASED ESTIMATED REVENUES OF THE GENERAL FUND THE SUM OF $$70.00 TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OPERATING BUDGET, ACCOUNT NO. 36-40-00, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING THE PUR- CHASE OF SMOKE DETECTORS FOR USE BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLMENT OF THIS ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC- TIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the estimated revenues accruing to the General Fund of the City of Fort Worth for the Fiscal Year 1985 are hereby increased by transferring thereto $870.00 in Special Gift Funds, Account No. 088-036005-00; and that, in addition to providing the City Manager with such other revenue as may be secured from various sources in- cluded in Ordinance No. 9168 and in the Budget of the City Manager, there shall also be appropriated from the increased revenues of the "~" General Fund the sum of $870.00 to the Fire Department Operations Budget, Account No. 36-40-00, Index Code 276873, to fund the pur- chase of smoke detector alarms, to be distributed by the Fire Department to underprivileged citizens in the City of Fort Worth. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be cumulative of all provisions of ordi- nances and of the Code of the City of Fort Worth, Texas {1964), as ,. ~, amended, except where;"the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with the provisions o.f such ordinances and such Code, in which event conflicting~~provisions o,~. s-ucn ordinances and such Code are hereby repealed. ~,.,.f~' .~ ~~ -~ SECTTON 3. It is hereby declared to be the intention of the City Council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of .. k~ -, ;~~' r0 this ordinance are severable, and, if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this ordinance shall be declared unconsti- tutional by the valid judgment or decree of any court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been enacted by the City Council without the incorporation in this ordinance of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section. SECTION 4. The City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth is hereby directed to engross and enroll this ordinance by copying the caption and effective date in the minutes of the City Council and by filing the ordinance in the ordinance records of the City. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, and it is so ordained. These funds were donated specifically for the purchase of smoke alarms for underprivileged citi- zens and at the time of receipt were deposited in the Special Gifts Fund No. 88. Financing Sufficient funds for the purchase of smoke alarms are available in the Special Gifts Fund, Account No. 88-U36-005-00, Index Code 012138, "Citizen Gifts to Fire Department - Smoke Detectors". A transfer to Fire Department Account No. 36-40-00, Index Code 276873 is necessary. A supplemental appropriation is required. Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council: 1. Authorize the transfer of $870 from the Special Gift Fund, Account No. 88-036-005-00, to the General Fund, thereby increasing estimated revenues and appropriations in the Special Gift Fund, Account No. 88-036-005-00; 2. Adopt the attached supplemental appropriation ordinance increasing appro- priations in the General Fund (Fire Department) Account No. 36-40-00, Index Code 276873, and increasing estimated receipts by $870, and, 3. Approve the expenditure of $870 from the citizen's donated funds for use in purchase of smoke alarms for the Smoke Alarms project.
