AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION VII OF ORDI- NANCE NO. 1647 PRESCRIBING A MINIMUM CON- NECTION CHARGE TO CITY WATER MAINS, A SERVICE CHARGE FOR CONNECTIONS OF LINES FOR PRIVATE FIRE PROTECTION AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: SECTION I. That Section VII of Ordinance No. 1647 be and the same is hereby amended, and after being so amended it shall read as follows; "Section VII A monthly minimum service charge per month or fraction thereof shall be made for each connection with the city water mains, except connectlons for private fire protection which are provided for hereinafter. This service charge shall be made based upon the size of the connectionIas follows: Size Inches Monthly Minimum Charge 5/8 or 3/4 .75 1 1.00 Reeidenee �3: - 1.75 Commer isl 1-1/4 2.25 1-1/2 3.00 2 5.00 3 10.00 4 15.00 6 30.00 8 45.00 10 60.00 12 90.00 An amount of water, at rates in effect, will be allowed monthly for the above monthly minimum service charge. In all cases where more than one house is supplied through one meter, a minimum charge will be made for each house. A monthly service charge of $1.00 per month shall be made for each connection to the water mains for pri- vate fire protection. This charge or inspection fee shall cover costs of inspection and sealing valves and other openings where water can be withdrawn. These charges are payable monthly as all other accounts of the City water works and all rules applying to other accounts shall apply." SECTION II. A violation of any of the above rules and regula- tions of the City crater works as set out in the preceding see- tions or a doing or causing to be done by any person or persons, firm or association of any of the things or acts forbidden or made unlawful in any of the preceding sections shall be deem- ed to constitute a violation under the terms of this ordinance and an offense and punishable as such and for each and every violation of the terms of this ordinance the person, firm, as- soeiation or corporation shall, upon conviction thereof in the Corporation Court, be fined not less than Twenty-five 1701- lars (025.00) nor more than One Hundred i)ollars ($100.00.) SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and publication as required by law. APPROVED AS TO FORM: City Attorney.
