HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1764 No. 1 AN ORDINANCE SETTING FORTH AN ITIMIZED ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH DEPARTKENT, DIVISION AND OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVffi%TMT OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR TSE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR AND AP- PROPRIATING MONEY FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE, AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS UPON THIS ORDINANCE BEFORE THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL SITTING AS A COMMITTEE OF TIM WHOLE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: SECTION I. That the appropriations for the ensuing fiscal year beginning October 1, 19339 and ending September 30, 1934, for the different depart- ments and purposes of the City of Fort Worth be fixed and determined as follows: I GENERAL AIAIINISTRATION 1. Miscellaneous 24,053.00 X ASSET AND LIABILITY ACCOUNTS 62. 111,120.00 XI GAWAL INTEREST AND SINKING FUND 1,113.561.25 XII WATSRWCFM FUND BUDGET The Water Department shall be provided with such revenue as may be secured from the sale of water and other sources as shown by other ordin- ances heretofore passed and such money shall be used to meet the requirements of that department as provided in the budget of the City Manager. XIII PARKS The Department of Public Parke shall be provided with funds realized from a tax levy of 90 on each $100.00 of assessed value of all real, personal and mixed property in the City of Fort Worth not exempt from taxation by law, and such money shall be used to most the requirements of that department as provided in the budget of the City Manager. XIV RECREMON The Department of Public Recreation shall be provided with funds realized from a tax levy of 20 on each $100.00 of assessed value of all real, personal, and mined property in the City of Fort Worth not exempt from taxation by law, and such money shall be used to meet the requirements of that depart- ment as provided in the budget of the City Manager. XV LIBRARY The Public Library shall be provided with funds realized from a tax levy of 3¢ on each $100.00 of assessed value of all real, personal and mixed property in the City of Fort Worth not exempt from taxation by law, and such money .shall be used to meet the requirements of that department as provid- ed in the budget of the City Manager. SECTION II. That the distribution and division of the above named appropriations be made in accordance with the budget of expenditures submitted by the City r Manager and as revised by the City Council in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter and adopted by the City Council and which budget is made a part of this ordinance by reference thereto and shall be considered in con- nection with the expenditures of the above appropriation. SECTION III. That the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, as heretofore provided and for which meeting notice has been duly given, shall sit as a committee of the whole in the Council Chamber at the City Hall in the City of Fort Worth on Wednesday, the27th day of September, A. D. 1933, at 9:30 o'clock a. m., to hear any complaints, suggestions or observations that any citizen, taxpayer or party interested may desire to make with reference to any or all the provisions of this ordinance, and such committee shall continue its deliberations until the public has been given a full opportunity to be heard. SECTION IV. That following the public hearings, for which provision has been made in the preceding section, this ordinance shall be published in the of- ficial newspaper of the City of Fort Worth and which newspaper is one of gen- eral circulation in said City, together with a separate schedule setting forth the items in the estimate of the City Manager, which were omitted or changed by the City Council, and the reason for such omission or change, as required by the Charter of said City. SECTION V. That this ordinance shall not be presented for final passage until ten full days have elapsed after its publication, as provided by the Charter of said City. SECTION VI. Should any part, portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid or inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way affect the remaining portions, parts, sections or parts of sections of this ordinance, which provisions shall be, remain and continue to be In full force and effect. SECTION VII. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in fall force and effect from and after the date of its passage and publication as required by the Charter of the City of Fort Worth.
