ORDINANCE N0. ~~
AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE ESTIMATED REVENUES ACCRUING TO
THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 1984-85 BY TRANSFERRING THERETO $50,000 FROM THE
CAPITAL PROJECT RESERVE FUND AND APPROPRIATING FROM THE
INCREASED ESTIMATED REVENUES OF THE GENERAL FUND THE SUM
OF $50,000 TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE SERVICE ACCOUNT,
ACCOUNT NO. 36-50-00, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING MODIFICA-
TIONS TO VARIOUS FIRE STATIONS; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABIL-
ITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR
ORDINANCES AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR ENGROSSMENT AND ENROLLMENT OF THIS
ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the estimated revenues accruing to the General Fund of the
City of Fort Worth for the Fiscal Year 1984-85 are hereby increased
by transferring thereto $50,000 from the Capital Project Reserve
Fund, Fund No. 10-01000-00; and that in addition to providing the
City Manager with such other revenue as may be secured from various
sources included in Ordinance No. 9168 and in the Budget of the City
Manager, there shall also be appropriated from the increased reve-
nues of the General Fund the sum of $50,000 to the Fire Department,
Fire Services Account, Account No. 36-50-00, Index Codes 298026 and
298224, to fund fire station modifications necessary to provide
Emergency Medical Services sub-stations in eight fire stations.
SECTION 2.
Should any portion, section or part of a section of this ordi-
nance be declared invalid, inoperative or void for any reason by a
court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment
shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections or parts of
sections of this ordinance, which said remaining provisions shall be
and remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of Ordinance No. 9168,
and all other ordinances and appropriations amending the same except
in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in

direct conflict with such other ordinances and appropriations, in
which instances said conflicting provisions of said prior ordinances
and appropriations are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 4.
The City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth is hereby directed
to engross and enroll this ordinance by copying the caption and
effective date of same in the minutes of the City Council of the
City of Fort Worth and by filing this ordinance in the ordinance
records of said City.
SECTION 5.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

Background
On December 18, 1984 (M&C G-6203), the City O~uncil approved combining Fire and
EMS calls in central fire dispatch in order to fully utilize the capabilities
of the new computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system. Authorization was also given
to relocate Daniel Emergency Medical Services sub-stations at eight fire
stations strategically located throughout the City. However, the
recommendation did not include a request for the funds necessary to complete
the necessary modifications to the fire stations.
Financing
Funds in the amount of $50,000 are requested to be transferred from the Capital
Projects Reserve Fund, Unspecified Account No. 10-O1000i-00 to General Fund
Account No. 36-50-00, Index Codes 298026 -Civil Service Overtime ($30,000) and
298224 - Miscellaneous Operating Supplies ($20,000), Fire Department, to pay
for fire station modifications. Fund balance will be $719,548 in Fund 10,
Unrestricted, after the $50,000 is transferred.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached supplemental
appropriation ordinance which transfers $50,000 from Fund 10-01000--00 (Capital
Project Reserve Fund) to the General Fund Account No. 36-50-00 (Fire Services),
Index Codes 298026 and 298224 and thereby increase General Fund revenue, Index
Code 120030, and appropriations by $50,000.
