1.984-85 Budget 3
10/2/84 G-6132 101
During the budget study sessions with the City Council, City staff was directed
t,r rti~rd,r~ ~d just user fees so that an additional $300,000 in General Fund revenue
~fl,}tvl~ be generated in 1984-85. This increase in revenue was reflected in the
~t~,Fl 984'85 adopted budget by increasing the estimate for: (1) licensee and permits
by $74,340, (2) revenue from other governmental authorities by $25,298, and
~~~+a(3) charges for current services by $200,362.
,i. ,As a basis for these fee adjustments, City staff referred to the recently-
completed update of the City-wide user fee analysis that was conducted by
s,r~rg~id M. Griffith and Associates, Ltd. The consultant recommended adjusting
fees so that the cost/recovery rates that were established in 1963-84 could be
"~ maintained. All affected departments were consulted for guidance and assistance
ee Rc#,~c,daveloping these proposed fee adjustments. Some fee adjustments recommended
by departments resulted in cost/recovery rates that are lower than those estab-
lished in 1983-84.
The ,City Council was assured that Council approval for these fee adjustments.
would be secured on an individual fee basis.
