Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 18019-03-2008ORDINANCE NO. 18019-03-2008 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 17979-OZ-2008; ORDERING AN ELECTION BY THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, ON MAY 10, 2008, ON THE QUESTION OF THE ISSUANCE OF AD VALOREM TAX SUPPORTED PUBLIC SECURITIES FOR THE 2008 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAlVI TO AMEND SUBSECTION (D) OF SECTION SIX TO DELETE TWO EARLY VOTING LOCATIONS AND ADD NII~TE NEW LOCATIONS AND TO ADD SUBSECTIONS (D)(2), (3) AND (4) TO ADD TEMPORARY EARLY VOTING LOCATIONS WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 17979-02-2008 on February 12, 2008 ordering a general election be held on May 12, 2007, on the Question of the Issuance of Ad Valorem Tax Supported Public Securities for the 2008 Capital Improvement Program. WHEREAS, said ordinance designated early voting locations but did not set out temporary early voting locations; and WIEIEREAS, the City desires to delete two early voting locations and add nine new locations and add other temporary early voting locations and times. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. E1~RLY VOTING Section 6, Subsection (d), of Ordinance No. 17979-02-2008 is hereby repealed and replaced as follows: (d) Early Voting. Early voting by personal appearance of Fort Worth residents that live in Tarrant County shall be conducted beginning, April 28, 2008, and continuing through May 6, 2008. That it is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this ordinance was adopted and said elections were called was open to the public and public notice of the time, place and purpose of said meeting was given, all as required by Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code. 6 SECTION 3. That this Ordinance, which amends the election order, proclamation, notice, and Ordinance No. 17979 -02-2008, as amended, shall take effect upon adoption.
