ORDINANCE NO . 9~ 7S'
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GUISHING CERTAIN UTILITY AND DRAINAGE EASEMENTS LOCATED IN
BLOCK 9, OVERTON WOODS ADDITION; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION
OF FEE IN SAID LANDS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT the following easements, all of which are located in
Block 9, Overton Woods Addition, be and the same are vacated,
abandoned and permanently closed and extinguished as easements for
their respective purposes:
A. The 10-foot wide east/west utility easement located
in Lot A, the 10-foot wide northwest/southeast util-
ity easement also located in Lot A, and the 5-foot by
5-foot utility easement located in Lot 48, all of
said easements being more particularly described by
metes and bounds as Parcel 1 in Exhibit "B", attached
hereto and incorporated herein.
B. The L-shaped drainage and utility easement located in
Lots 37 and 38, being more particularly described by
metes and bounds as Parcel 2 in Exhibit "B", attached
hereto and incorporated herein.
C. The L-shaped drainage and utility easement located in
Lots 29 and 30, being more particularly described as
Parcel 3 in Exhibit "B", attached hereto and ncor-
porated herein.
D. The 1.5-foot wide portion of a 10-foot wide north-
west/southeast utility easement located in Lot 23,
being more particularly described as Parcel 4 in
Exhibit "B", attached hereto and incorporated herein.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the lands in the above described vacated util-
ity and drainage easements is hereby released and shall revert to
the adjacent owners as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.

That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

east/west utility easement that crosses said Block 9, westward 48.30' to a

The subject herein described easements are shown on the attached exhibit map .as
Parcels 1, 2, 3 and 4.
The subject drainage and utility easements, acquired by dedication, are platted
but contain na utility facilities. The subject vacation request is made in
order to consolidate the vacated rights-of-~,aay with adjacent property, to expand
the building area, and provide more usable yard space.
It is the opinion of the Real Property Department that the interest of the City
in the easement areas denoted in this vacation application request has no
monetary value, if vacated.
Reviewing City departments and private utility companies have raised no
objections to this request.
Recceanendation
It is reconnnended that the City Council adopt an ordinance vacating. the drainage;
and utility easements in Lots 23, 29, 30, 37, 38, 48 & "A", Block 9, Overton
Woods Addition.
