Currently, a Parkway Contractor must execute a bond to the City in the amount of $2,500; likewise, the bond for a Street and Storm Drain contractor is $5,000. The amount of bond required has not been increased in many years even though today very minor pra~ects exceed the amount of bonding. It has become apparent as construction activity in the City increases and the value of infrastructure improvements rises that the City's intereate are not adequately protected by the current bond amounts. Recommendations It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance amending Chapter 33, Section 33-10 and 33-13, "Streets and Sidewalks" of the code of t:he City of Fart Worth to increase bond requirements for Parkway Contractors to $10,000 and Street and Storm Drain contractors to $25,A00.
