In 1983, a consolidation of the Human Resources and Housing and Community Development Departments resulted in the creation of a new Department of Housing and Human Services. Although Ordinance No. 8723 creating the Department effectively repealed those provisions of Ordinance No. 8006 which had created the Housing and Community Development Department, the provisions were not formally repealed. As a result, the pub- lished City Code still includes the obsolete provisions at Chapter 20A. Proposal Because the Department of Housing and Human Services has never been assigned a City Code number, it is proposed that the old Housing and Community Development Department provisions be formally 'repealed and the Code designation, Chapter 20A, assigned to Housing and Human Services. The proposed ordinance has been reviewed by the Department of Law and the City Manager's office. Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance repealing the existing Chapter 20A ("Housing and Community Development") designation and re- assigning it to the Housing and Human Services Department. tiJWW : iyy APPROVED BY CITY COUNCIL AUG 7 1984 ~4~ ) ~~f ~d City Sgcretn "'°-""- rY of the Cite of Fort 31Yara~, ,~+~ SUBMITTED FOR T CITY MANAGER'S DISPOSITION BY COUNCIL: PROCESSED f)Y (1FFICE BY' ^ APPROVED ORIGINATING Ramon Glla ardo DEPARTMENT HEAD ~ OTHER (DESCRIBE) Ado te~ Ordinanc N ~~ : p e Q, CITY SECRETARY FOR AOOI~IONAL INFORM TION CONTACT Damon Guaj ardo DATE .1.~af
