HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 9903 INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 9903 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council June 21, 2016 r� Page 1 of 1 �i �i7 Y *a SUBJECT: PROPOSED ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENTS RELATING rrn TO DEVELOPMENT IN TRINITY UPTOWN/PANTHER ISLAND The primary purpose of the proposed text amendments is to reflect changes in development practices and project engineering for the Trinity Uptown form-based code district. The City Council adopted the district and associated standards and guidelines in 2006 to promote development of a vibrant urban waterfront north of Downtown. The district was last updated in 2010 and is depicted on the attached map. On June 2, 2016, the Trinity River Vision Authority Board of Directors voted to recommend the following ordinance amendments to the City of Fort Worth: • Change the name of the district from Trinity Uptown to Panther Island; • Increase minimum building height to five (5) stories with the exception of the N-3 and UL-1 zones; • Establish Urban Design Commission review procedures to determine mix of use requirements; • Provide specificity for pavement materials; and • Revise the urban design plan and street sections to reflect current engineering and design. Staff has briefed the Urban Design Commission and the Zoning Commission.
