AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING AND EXTIN-
GUISHING THE 5900 BLOCK OF VANITA ANN DRIVE AND CERTAIN
UTILITY EASEMENTS LOCATED IN LOT 1, BLOCK 1, AND LOT 1,
BLOCK 2, BRIARWOOD ADDITION; PROVIDING FOR REVERSION OF
FEE IN SAID LANDS; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
THAT THE following be and the same are vacated, abandoned, and
permanently closed and extinguished as public street right-of-way
and as utility easements, respectively:
A, The 5900 Block of Vanita Ann Drive, a sixty foot wide
public street right-of-way, from the north right-of-
way line of Collett-Little Road northward 120 feet to
the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 2, Briarwood
Addition;
B. The 5 foot wide north/south utility easement located
in Lot 1, Block 1, Briarwood Addition, from the north
right-of-way line of Collett-Little Road northward
90.9 feet to the north property line of said Lot 1,
Block 1, Briarwood Addition;
C. The 5 foot wide east/west utility easement located in
Lot 1, Block 1, Briarwood Addition, from the west
property line of said Lot 1, Block 1, Briarwood
Addition eastward 125 feet to Vanita Ann Drive;
D. The 5 foot wide east/west utility easement located in
Lot 1, Block 2, Briarwood Addition, from Vanita Ann
Drive eastward to the west right-of-way line of Marie
Jones Road;
E. The 5 foot wide north/south utility easement located
in Lot 1, Block 2, Briarwood Addition, from the north
right-of-way line of Collett-Little Road northward
160 feet to the northeast corner of said Lot 1,
Block 2, Briarwood Addition.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the lands in the above described vacated public

street right-of-way and utility easements is hereby released and
shall revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.

That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so or-
dained.

David W. Forbes, owner of all abutting property, has requested that the City
vacate the following:
(1) The 5900 block of Vanita Ann Drive a width of 60' from Collett-Little Road
northward 120' to the northwest corner of Lot 1, Block 2, Briarwood Addi-
tion;
(2) The 5' wide north/south utility easement in Lot 1, Block 1, Briarwood
Addition, from Collett-Little Road northward 90.9' to the north property
line of said Lot 1, Block 1, Briarwood Addition;
(3) The 5' wide east/west utility easement in Lot 1, Block 1, Briarwood Addi-
tion, from the west property line of said Lot 1, Block 1, Briarwood Addi-
tion, eastward 125' to the Vanita Ann Drive;
(4) The 5' wide east/west utility easement in Lot 1, Block 2, Briarwood Addi-
tion from Vanita Ann Drive eastward to Marie Jones Road;
(5) 'The 5' wide north/south utility easement on Lot 1, Block 2, Briarwood Addi-
tion, from Collett-Little Raod northward 160' to the northeast corner of
said Lot 1, Block 2, Briarwood Addition. All of the subject street and
utility easements are as shown on the attached map.
The subject street and utility easement rights-of-way, acquired by dedication,
are not open on the ground and contain no utility facilities. The subject
vacation request is made in order to replat the vacated rights-of~way with
adjacent property, to expand the building area, and provide more usable yard
space.
The. necessary and appropriate monetary consideration has been placed in escrow
with the Real Property Department of the City. Reviewing City departments and
private utility companies have raised no objections to this request provided
the vacated rights-of-way are replatted with adjacent property. A satisfactory
replat has been submitted.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that the sub-
ject street and utility easements be vacated as requested.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that ~:n Ordinance be adopted vacating the 5900 block of
Vanita Ann Drive and the 5' utility easements in Lot 1, Block 1, and Lot 1,
Block 2, Briarwood Addition, as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
