HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 8803~. <, ~- ORDINANCE NO. ~d D~ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 8140, "PLUMBING CODE" OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; TO REPEAL THE REQUIRE- MENT FOR A SECURITY BOND; TO PROVIDE FOR A BUSINESS REGIS- TRATION FEE; TO PROVIDE FOR A LICENSE FEE FOR APPRENTICE PLUMBERS; PROVIDING FOR A PLUMBING PERMIT ISSUANCE FEE; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE IS CUMULATIVE OF ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES; AND PROVISIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY AND FOR PUBLI- CATION; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Section 1.15, "Security Bond," of Ordinance 8140, "Plumbing Code" of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is hereby re- pealed, and in its place a new Section 1.15 is substituted, and hereafter the said Section 1.15 shall be and read as follows: "Section 1.15 - Business Registration "Any firm, business or organization consisting of an individual or individuals licensed as plumbers by the State of Texas, who are conducting business in the City of Fort Worth shall register with the City of Fort Worth Department of Development before October 30, 1983. Each such registration shall be renewed annually. The fees for the initial registration and the renewal shall be as fol- lows: Initial registration $100.00 Annual renewal $ 50.00" SECTION 2. That Ordinance 8140, "Plumbing Code," shall be amended by add- ing Section 1.12.a thereto, following Section 1.12, and that here- after the said Section 1.12.a shall be and read as follows: "Section 1.12.a - Permit Issuance Fee "A fee ofen dollars ($10.00) shall be charged at the time of issuance of any plumbing permit." SECTION 3. That Ordinance 8140, "Plumbing Code," shall be amended by add- ing Section 1.16 thereto, and hereafter the said Section 1.16 shall be and read as follows: ~-~ s by "Section 1 16 -Apprentice Plumbers - License "Any individual who serves as an apprentice to any plumbing firm or business conducting business within the City of Fort Worth shall pay to the Department of Develop- ment an annual license fee of $1.25." SECTION 2. That, should any portion, section or part of a section of this Ordinance be declared invalid, inoperative or void far any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way impair the remaining portions, sections or parts of sections of this Ordinance, which said remaining provi- sions shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances and of the Code of the City of Fort Worth except in those instances where the provisions of this Ordinance are in direct conflict with such other ordinances and such Code, in which instances said con- flicting provisions are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 4. That any person, firm or corporation who violates, disobeys, neglects or refuses to comply with or who resists the enforcement of any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be fined not more than Two Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($200.00) for each offense Each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense. SECTION 5. The City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is hereby directed to publish the caption and penalty clause and effective date of this ordinance for five (5) days in the official newspaper of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, as authorized by TEX. REV. CIV. After reviewing the consultant's recommended fee adjustments with. all affected departments and appr-opriate advisory boards, City staff refined the fee proposals and presented recommendations to the Council Audit Committee on April 19 City Council action is required to implement the recommended fee adjustments. Recommendations It is recommended that l.: The attached ordinances be adopted to adjust the following fees a) Sexually transmitted disease clinic fees from $4 00 to $6.00, b) Health permits *1 Food and beverage permits (all categories not otherwise listed), open-to-the-public swimming pools, lodging, water suppliers, theatres, places of public amusement from $60 00 to $125 00 2. Frozen dessert permit from $10.00 to $25 00 *3. Fish wholesaler permit from $15.00 to $125.00 ~"~ *4. Fish retailer permit from $5 00 to $125.00 *5. Wholesale fish trucker permit from $15 00 to $125 00 6. Temporary food permit from $0 to $50.00 7. Mobile home park permit from $50 00 plus $1 00 per trailer space to $125 00 plus $2.50 per trailer space *8 Meat distributor, poultry distributor, septic tank cleaner permits from $25.00 to $125.00 *9.
