AN ORDINANCE, AMENDING ORDINANCE 8097, "FORT
WORTH MECHANICAL CODE", BY CHANGING THE
ANNUAL CONTRACTOR LICENSING FEE; PROVIDING
FOR A BUSINESS REGISTRATION FEE; PROVIDING
THAT THIS ORDINANCE IS CUMULATIVE OF ALL
ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING A
SEVERABILiTY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH
SECTION 1.
That Section 204(d) of Ordinance 8097, "Fort Worth Mechani-
cal Code", is hereby amended and that hereafter, said Section
shall be and read as follows:
"(d) Fees. Licensing fees shall be as follows:
First year or portion thereof $100.00
Yearly renewal $ 50.00
Delinquency fee for yearly renewal $ 25.00"
SECTION 2.
That Section 204 of the said Ordinance 8097 is hereby
amended by adding subsection (m) thereto, to be and read as
follows:
"Sec. 204.
"(m) Business Registration. Any firm, business, or
other organization consisting of mechanical contrac-
tors required to be licensed under the provisions of
this Section shall register with the City of Fort
Worth Department of Development, before October 30,
1983.
"Each registration shall be renewed annually. The fol-
lowing fees shall be charged for such registration:
First year registration $ 25.00
Annual renewal of registration $ 25.00"
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all provisions
of ordinances and of the Code of the City of Fort Worth, Texas
(1964), as amended, except where the provisions of this ordi-
nance are in direct conflict with the provisions of such ordi-
nance and such code, in which ev ent conflicting provisions of
such ordinances and such code are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4.
That it is hereby declared to be the intention of the City
Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, that the sections,
paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are
severable and if any section, paragraph, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance shall be declared void, ineffective or
unconstitutional by the valid judgment or final decree of a
court of competent jurisdiction, such voidness, ineffectiveness
or unconstitutionality shall not affect any of the remaining
sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses or phrases of this
ordinance since the same would have been enacted by the City
Council without the incorporation herein of any such void,
ineffective or unconstitutional section, paragraph, sentence,
clause or phrase.
SECTION 5.
That any person, firm or corporation who violates, dis-
obeys, neglects or refuses to comply with or who resists the
enforcement of any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be
fined not more than Two Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($200.00) for
each offense. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist
shall constitute a separate offense.
SECTION 6.
The City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is
hereby directed to publish the caption and penalty clause and
effective date of this ordinance for five (5) days in the offi-
cial newspaper of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, as authorized
by the TEX. REV. CIV. STATS. Art. 1176b-1.
SECTION 7.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of passage and publication as above specified.
