Jn!4tO NUMBER Supplemental Appropriation for
11/3/75 G-2871 Department of Law 1 of 2
A supplemental appropriation is requested for the Department of Law in order
that the following improvements, equipment and supplies may be acquired:
1. Books and publications for the Police Department Legal
Advisor:
The Police Legal Advisor was transferred from the Police
Department budget to that of the Department of Law during
the time that the current budget was being formulated. The
costs referred to herein were unknown to the Department of
Law at the time of the original budget submission and are
necessary to keep some of the sets of law books updated and
useful, as well as to renew expiring subscriptions to some
loose-leaf advisory legal services that were obtained during
the time that the Police Legal Advisor was funded by revenues
from the Federal Government. $ 820
2. Construction of storage shelves in basement:
Department of Law case files and library volumes have
accumulated in all spaces within the department to the
extent that space to file and store materials not fre-
quently referred to must be retired in an organized,
orderly fashion. $ 817
3. Additional bookcases for Department of Law Library:
Publication of new volumes to expanding sets exerts a
continuing demand for library shelf space. Purchase
of an adequate number of library bookcases will permit
reorganizing the library to provide adequate shelf
space for the foreseeable future. $1,260
4. Construction of partition:
A partition similar to existing partitions to provide
additional area for file cabinets, desk space and work
area for secretary, and office space for attorney pre-
sently working in the library. $2,500
(Approx)
